[Official] NVIDIA GPU Mod Club - AKA "The Mod" - Page 207

So I'm guessing this whole mod is the somewhat simplified version of the Accelero Hybrid? This thing is expensive but I wonder if I could order just the bracket for from the manufacturer since its using the same cooler as the 620.

They are very similar in many ways.

Give them a call and see what they say, can't hurt. Id be interested to hear.

Hey guys. If you haven't found out yet, I removed the IHS on my 580 and decreased my temps by ~12C. I used to be folding around 59-60C now its 46-48C....its awesome. I relapped the antec 620 cooler, check her out!

She's purdy!

So you did decide too lol, nice job and wow what a decrease in temps. Lovely job of lapping, better than mine

While the mod and the Hybrid are similar in achiving the same outcome, thats where the similarities end. The pump mounting for the shroud (bracket) in the hybrid is totally different (see my sig for details). The pump head has specific screw mounts that allow it to attach to the custom shroud. The generic 620 does not have these.

Hey all, posted a while back about sandwiching some 620 goodness for my CPU/GPU in a FT03-T... well there wasn't a good way to make it work that would perform so I went back to my old case and modded the crap out of it... my Thermaltake Armor A30, you can view my build log blog entry here. Pictures are on my skydrive here for people that don't want to read lol.

Glam shot!

Still waiting on a fan controller for the top fan I replaced and the push pull fans for the gpu cooler so I'm using a molex to 3 x 3pin connection atm so that's why the one wire is disgustingly hanging in my window haha.

I am able to reach a BF3 stable overclock on my GTX 570 of 915mhz gpu, 2050mhz vram @ 1.09v! Max temps in BF3 around 45-50c, loving The Mod so much right now - it's given new life to my GTX 570 in a sea of 600 series nvidia gpu goodness.

Heard some coil/psu whine last night while playing some bf3 so I may have to go back down on my GPU OC somewhat lol.

Thanks to DWood for the custom bracket - you should've seen how usps bent the hell out of it when I opened the package - nothing a little patience couldn't solve.

xyez, Hey thanks for the update. I was wondering how the FT03-T would work out.

Yeah my last idea I was going to try was to put the second 620 next to the only intake grill at the side of the case, but it was going to hit mobo and RAM so I just said screw it and went back to my Armor A30, which I don't regret in the slightest, I'm looking at the Xigmatek GIGAS case as a possible option to do a full water loop with two 670s or something in the future but I dunno.

I will take a closer look at the Xigmatek GIGAS case. I did look at doing a full water loop, but did not see the $ense in it. My 560 TI 2GB cost ~ $250 each. Their full water blocks were $100 each. Since my 2600k CPU works fine with the Antec 920, it really made no sense. The MOD was just too cheap and appropriate. It's also easier to ship to my son someday.
I was going to wait for Ivy Bridge and the 680 GPU to build a new system. Now I'm waiting on some stable SandyBridge-E mother boards, and some higher tier 680s with waterblocks.
The way I see it: Over Clocking takes advantage of a the BACK-OFF of performance to accomadate variation in process and environments. The 600 GPU series reduces the back-off margin with the power consumption sensing, temperature sensing, and some clever auto throttle controls. So, I would rather get 670 or 680 already setup and tweaked for water cooling.
Yea, the MOD will still help especially with noise. Anyone get much of an OC boost with a MOD on a 670 or 680?
I still have my RAVEN RV02-E case. A MORA3 rad will easily mount on it's reinforced side panel. It's more bang for the buck vs. 240 rads, and you can never have too much rad. It has some nice looking covers etc.
