How much of a difference does lapping the kuhler have? I'm thinking about it but not sure if I want to take it off the card or not.

I haven't done it but I have lapped lots of other stuff ... some times with decent results, other times with negligible results. I think it's most effective when a cooler is already having a difficult time keeping things cool ... like my H100 CPU block that showed a few degrees improvement in cooling my 5ghz overclock (fairly high volts).

The Mod(tm) already does a HUGELY bang up job of cooling things to a fairly ridiculous level and so I personally don't think the gains would be that much. But like I said, I haven't done it and so could be totally wrong.

Shoot man ... nothing to lose, really. Try it out and post some results.

Lapping the antec 620 cooler will give u a good 5c+ temp drop. If u can do it right. The cooler plate is horribly concave and really requires lapping for maximum performance. Its so worth it!

I didn't lap mine, and my 670's idle at 27C in SLI. Max's out at 43-45C (top-bottom) after a loop of Heaven. Maybe I just got lucky.
It will make ~5* difference (see the chart in the first post, compare similar models by lapped/unlapped), but it's pretty negligible unless you're really pushing your card/aren't happy with your overclock.
