Okay, so I checked - I have the new one. It seems to work well. Like I said, 19celcius idle and 45 under load! Here's a pic of mine:

Correct me if I'm wrong but more surface area = greater cooling potential. So really, it should be an improvement over the older one...but then again, the processor isn't really that big. I guess it depends what one you get in the box.

I've now got an OC going on the card - 1.088V @ 1000mHz (stock was something like 925), can't get past 1000 (it doesn't do anything hmmsmiley02.gif) but max temp was 47 celcius. I'm happy! Before the mod I would be at 89!!

Sweet! Did you use sand paper on the Antec Kuhler or is it that shiny by default?

I started with 600 grit, then moved up to 800grit, then 1000 grit, 1500 grit, 2000 grit, 2500 grit and ended at 3000 grit.

I'm now OC'ed to 950MHz, 2145 memory MHz and 1.088V. Seems pretty sweet to me!!

yes those are really nice, good lapping job. The 4000 grit removed any remaining hazing for me. Looks like the one on the right still has some deep groves tongue.gif

Just an edit to add

Looking at the two pumps facing each other reminded me of when I had two lapped pumps facing each other and when I placed a penny between to show the mirror finish it produced an optical illusion that the penny was suspended in mid air, it looked so real but when you go to grab the penny it wasn't there. Sorry, not on topic

I never got my two EVGA GTX560ti to do 1GHz. Over 950Mhz was boot trouble. I never played much with voltages etc. Maybe some thread has OC instructions. It could be the Clock PLL does not support 1GHz.

lol yeah, I did the penny as well. It was cool. And also, that was before I was actually done. No grooves anymore!

Hey guys,

I have been reading this forum for the last week and I finally made my decision and did the mod. I have a zotac gtx 560 ti 448 core with a H50, using the zippes to create my ghetto mounting bracket.

I use to get around 75 degrees playing FC3 on 60% fan and I figured it was too hot, so I went ahead and put the H50 on. I have a single push pull config for the rad, thats at the bottom of my case.

After running 3 " benchmark tests" with " extra burn" feature on in "FURMARK" I maxed out the temps at 52 degrees. Mind you I wasn't able to get a reading for the VRM or VRAM's but I put the original thermal pads over then and zipped tied at 80 mm exhaust on the VRM's.

Doing the stability test for 30 mins I got a max temp at 47 degrees.

This is a huge improvement then before, but mind you this card isn't OC'ed, and I didn't want to remove the IHS

I'll be posting some pics of the card in the case and the case in general later on tonight as I am at work right now and they throttle the upload speed here ( gotta the working for the man )

Once the pics are posted, could I be added to this elite group of modders?

Thats not bad. Ive got the default 560 ti, and Ive got the antec 620 strapped onto it with Dwoods bracket + fan. I'm getting similar temps as you at around 54c load. However I have my IHS removed and I also lapped the 620 as well, AND I have it overclocked to 999mhz at 1.087v. Really worth it.

Right on, good temps for that OC too.

I was to scared to remove the IHS wink.gif and OCing right now isn't really needed, but maybe if I feel brave one day i'll crank it up.

Removed my H55, going to RMA it for pump noise. As I was inspecting the unit,I saw that the one port, radiator side is leaking tiny bits of coolant.

Thank your pump noise!
