-With Afterburner open, my temp only gets up to high 40s/low 50s so far as I can see while Kombustor is running

Again, thanks in advance!

SWAG: Maybe the VRMs and VRAMs are too hot. My fan runs at minmum 30% (1100 RPM). Maybe you need the fan cooling or it's TACH signal. I cut down a check book box to make a partial fan cover that is open on the GPU end. Its easy to attach with tape.

I had the same problem when I first overclocked, before the mod. Turns out I needed to push my voltage. After the mod I'm at +150mV, 950/2100, temp at 46* running Heaven maxed out for an hour without issue.

I thought it might be my overclock as well. I slowly stepped it back, and ended up back at stock with the driver crashes still occurring.

I'll have to take a look at a fan shroud, thanks!

Well that is bummin. Get that shroud back on there. The design of that fan won't force air over the heatsink plate without it. Otherwise you need to mount a different fan.

You mentioned uninstalling the driver; did you use a driver cleaner? That would be best. Sux man. I hope you get it worked out.

Shifted my PC into an Antec Solo II that I got cheap, and went back to The Mod instead of the Accelero Mono I'd been using for a while. Picked up a bracket that allowed me to securely mount a 120mm fan below my graphics card, keeping the VRMs nice and cool. Pics:

Above:

Below:

The bracket I used for the 120mm fan:

Running nice and quiet now smile.gif

Wait..... Is the reference heatsink 1 single piece, or is it multiple pieces that I can mix and match with later on when I do the mod?. Considering getting the Dwood bracket w/ 92mm fan.
Reference heatsink is in two pieces - one for the core, one for the VRMs. A lot of people have kept the VRM sink as it's really quite decent.
