Yes and no. The bracket is a way better and neater solution than zip-ties, but zip-ties worked great for me.

the bracket is better. dwood does a great job with them, and being able to get some custom text on the fan-lip is pretty cool

Results are about the same temp wise but ya, like others have mentioned if possible use a bracket.
post #3805 of 8622
depends of the generation of card , the 6900 for exemple idle at nearly twice the clock of what a 7900 idle and the temp is nearly double too

Anybody tried mounting a corsair h110 or h90 with antec bracket ? as the pump seems to be the same i was wondering if it would work, because the 920 can fit on intel 775 while the h110 can't ,...

Got two 620 radiators in front of my define mini, perhaps its about the same size?

Hello guys, and thanks a lot for all your input, this mod rocks! smile.gif

I´m going to buy a 760GC and a 740GF to cool my 2500K OC´ed to 4.3Ghz and my two Inno3d Gtx570 Hawk also OC´ed a bit, in my Coolermaster Scout case. The main reason is reducing the noise while keeping the overclock, without breaking the bank. I´m thinking about mounting the 760 rad on the back and the 740 rad on top.

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

A couple of questions though:

- Should I buy 2 fans for each cooler for a push-pull confi or will 1 doing pull be enough?
- Is is better to buy Noctuas NF-F12 PWM 120MM 1500RPM (20 euros each) or or is the Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition (13€ each) more than enough?
- Can 2 sets of the Arctic Cooling VR004 be used to cool the VRM/RAM section, along with a Noctua NF-A9x14 92mm for each card or is there a cheaper way to do it, like having a Corsair AF120mm on my side panel pushing air to both cards?

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

Cheers

Dwoods bracket not an option at the moment as I live in South Africa and would be a mission to ship it in.

So I went with the trusty zip ties.

Before

Antec Formula 7 = thumb.gif

Still testing everything here.

I am working on the cover for this. The low profile pump works great.

Added some of my swiftech heatsinks to the top vram modules, it gets quite hot when stressed.
The heatsinks doing a great job with that.

Ambient = 28 Celsius
Idles = 30 Celsius
Max = 51-53 (stock fan on radiator)

Great improvement from the 82 full load
Near silent

Really impressed with the mod thumb.gif
No more jet engines and I think my coil whine also gone (not sure)

PS. Sorry for the bad quality photo's

The Home Made Bracket way.

Here, I took the back bracket from my stock cooler to help me space out and mark the holes for drilling on my Corsair H55 Bracket.

Masking tape for slip protection and mark.

Rounded with a steel file

Spray box ready to paint

3 quick coats of plastidip red

Assembly

3mm bolts and nuts with normal steel spacers.

Compound =Antec Formula 7 = thumb.gif

Idle at 26 (Low fan speed)
Ambient = 25
Load temps down from 52 (zip tie) - 44 Degree Celsius (bracket) (Low fan Speed)

High speed fan test ? Don't really care. yessir.gif

I was forced to make this as Dwoods is overseas and would be expensive to import.

I am still busy with the stock cover as well.
