i have a total of 10 fans in my system, and while it certainly is not dead silent, it is very quiet for the type of power it is capable of producing. i have no scientific evidence to support this claim, but i would have to guess that my system is 50-60% quieter since doing this mod.

My Antec HCG 900w PS burned up last month. Duct tapeing an external fan on it got me by for a while.
The replacement Cooler master Silent Pro 1000W at low load had some coil whine and Fan Growling.
The one I put in my sons system was OK, but this one was not silent, so I RMA'd it. Thank You Newegg.
I'm happy with the final replacement: SILVERSTONE ST1000-P 1000W.

My noise level went down another 70-90% with the mod, 2x 140mm front, 1x 140mm bottom and the Noctua F12 on my rad as exhaust. No coilwhine whatsoever from my PSU ( Unless I shove my head into my case while stressing it ). biggrin.gif

My load noise levels decreased significantly at load but my idle is definitely louder (2 Antec 620s). The pumps are my loudest components, even at 7V (they will run as low as 5V with negligible temperature gains compared to 12V, but I felt 7V had the smoothest noise character), even at full load (furmark).Mind you I'm only using single fans in push and none of my system's fans run at more than ~700rpm on load, and I have two pumps, so I'm probably in the minority here.

So I went and water cooled my GPUs aka the mod.
Two evga gtx 560 super clock
Two corsair H55
Lots of copper heat sinks.
52591613128987377422.jpg
74512323658052239408.jpg

Installed. Still figuring fan+rad placement.
92659851439431574566.jpg

20 °c improvement overall. Stock highs where 73°c now it's 45°c max over clocked too.

Looking good! Any photos of final placement? What fans and case do you have?

Nice one, how did you mount it? I'd love to do it to my Titan as i have already a very positive experience running my old GTX580 at 950/1.15V with an H100.

I would just prefer not to mount it using zip ties again, prefer an aftermarket/custom bracket if available...
