My gentle typhoon is the ap-15, a 1850rpm model. It's mounted on the 740gf, the GPU only kit. I ve put my ears real close to each component and got to the conclusion that that fan is indeed the quieter one, but even so I believe I will use the low voltage adapter. The only thing is that adapter is a 4 pin and the Gentle Typhoon is 3 pin, I think it won't work, but I understand what you mean. Meanwhile I disconnected 2 standard fans that came with my CM storm scout case and noise is a bit quieter. Regarding pump noise I didn't know that it was so resembled with typical fan noise, so I believe you are correct. Also tried controlling the Noctua's fans with Asus probe or speed fan but it doesn't do anything. Maybe I will end up removing one of the Noctua's. Connected the 3 pin power connection of the Asetek 760GC to the P8Z68 Pro motherboards 3pin pwr_1 fan header (not voltage controlled) and the sensor reports it ar 1450 rpm fixed, would it help if I connect it to the Chassis_1 fan header (voltage controled by bios) ?
I will keep trying to improve the setup. Now I am waiting for the other gtx 670 and my 27 inch 1400p monitor, if you have other ideas I would be thankful ;-)

Yo My setup runs like this.

Gtx670 - Corsair H50

I had lots of pump noise when I connected straight to my PSU and the same when I connected to my motherboard.

I also have a Zalman Fan controller. and when I connected to the controller my pump noise disappeared.

My H110 other the other hand makes no noise directly connected to my motherboard.

There is a thread here that shows how to add a resistor to get rid of pump noise.

Does anyone know how to zip-tie the Corsair H40 to Gainward's GTX 670?

Dis is tha card: http://static.pcinpact.com/images/bd/news/113770-gainward-gtx-670.png

Think this is the correct one. http://digistreet.hu/galeria/gainward-gtx-670-vga/gainward-nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-hatulja.jpg
It doesn't have that many holes, so not sure how I'm gonna get a snug fit. Maybe I'll try to mod the existing bracket.

Hmm, this is odd, after overclocking my GPU is always whining under load, I've narrowed it down to a certain black box on the card, close to my VRMs. And its actually missing a little piece of its corner D:.

Same for my noisy H100; plugged straight in to power supply, pump is unbearable. Plugged in to fan controller (Sunbeam Rheobus), totally silent. In essence, using a fan controller essentially accomplished the same thing as the in line resistor solution since the fan controller applies slightly less voltage than a straight PSU hook up (this was discussed in the resistor thread the other dude mentioned above).

Could it be what I've heard described as "coil whine?" I've read a lot about this but have never experienced it first hand (thank god); it would most likely drive me insane and cause me great unhappiness in general as I enjoy a completely silent PC. Hope you get it figured out.

Best,
.joel

Funny enough, when even wearing a very open headset, its inaudible, but when the headset is off, you can hear its there, but its not incredibly bad. Maybe I should try letting it run on Heaven for a day or 2.

Hey everyone. Long story short, I am finally mounting the bracket I got from Dwood. I realise now that he only included short screws for the backplates and not any long ones for the bracket holding the 620 mount. Which screws do I need to buy? Mind they need to go all the way through to the backplate.
Tried finding the information, but couldn't.
I cannot even express how much this sucks for me. I don't have much free time for my hobbies at the moment.

EDIT: Looks like the screws have 1/16 of an inch diameter and an inch length. Not found anything online for Canada yet. Driving me insane.

EDIT2: M2.5 x 25mm for dwood bracket
