[Official] NVIDIA GPU Mod Club - AKA "The Mod" - Page 476

I am planning on getting a pair of gtx 770s relatively soon and will be doing the mod on them as well. Because Im getting the 4gb models I will have to apply my own heatsinks (non-reference cooler). I was hoping someone might be able to post a picture of the 770 4gb pcb and point out where I would need heatsinks so that I can determine how many I actually need. Thanks!

I can't help you on the heatsink positioning specifically, but I do know that if you get an EVGA ACX or MSI Gaming/Lightning, you don't have to worry at all about heatsinks because those cards come with heat plates for the PCB.

Pumps will fit on that no problems. If your worried wait a few days and order ne my brackets it comes with shims, one being 2mm thick that should clear the heatplates.

Not if you take some heat to the sticker and carefully remove it thumb.gif

This is super interesting! I didn't read all 400+ pages of this so I apologize if this has already been answered but I had a few questions:

1) are people buying custom brackets for this still? And from where/whom?

2) how does the thickness of the card plus block tend to compare to the card plus stock cooler? I ask because I have an asus 670 gtx which is pretty fat, maybe 1.5 inches but I'm not sure, and I have an older motherboard that supports sli but I physically couldn't fit two of these cards next to each other...

3) I have a level 10gt case which has a side intake fan. Would this be sufficiently cool vrams?

1) Dwood is MIA, so nobody is ordering his brackets anymore. If you want a bracket then check out Sigma Cool by chmodlabs or wait for a mainstream bracket from NZXT (YouTube - personally I'm waiting for one as they look nicer and have a fan mount).

2) Thickness for pumps like the Corsair Hydro series will take up 2 slots just like most stock coolers. A little less if I remember right.

3) Your card won't die, but it wouldn't hurt to zip-tie a 92mm/80mm fan to the card (or use the mount on the upcoming NZXT GPU bracket).

Are most people using custom brackets, zip ties, or just drilling holes into the provided bracket? Are there any special considerations for say, an asus 670 gtx?

If it's a little less I wonder if ill be able to fit two in sli after all. I'd be much less concerned with proximity of cards if the fans aren't right on top of each other.
