I think 92mm fan is all what you will need to cover the entire card

from the back side of the card it would look like that (red arrows show the tip of the mounting clips)

side view

700

sorry about the quality of the pictures , phone cam doh.gif

Well, I'm sad to say my 620 cooled 570 didn't last long. Yesterday it refused to display upon startup, tried a bunch of troubleshooting and its dead. Started the RMA process, hopefully I won't get the same model back because that card was not very good at all.

can you be more specific. What did you try? Did reassembly fix anything. Were you having issues previous to this and what were you doing the last time before the fail

I don't feel like typing out all of what I did, but if you're asking if the cooler was the cause of the issue, then no it was not (that I can tell). It has no display even with the stock HSF on it. It is probably one of the cheapest most corner-cutting GPU's on the planet so it does not surprise me that it died (GTX 570 with a GTX 470 PCB and GTX 460 HSF/VRM). Temps were really good while it worked, while gaming it barely made it above 35*C most of the time.

did you have any cooling over the VRM and MOSFET area of the card ?
i think that having 35ْ C for GPU core does not mean that the VRMs are cooled also , don't you think so? confused.gif

Yes, I did. As I said, it most likely wasn't doing this mod that killed the card. More likely than that it was the sweltering 90*C load temps while throttling with the stock HSF at 100% prior to doing this mod. I'm not sure what temps it would have reached if it didn't throttle itself.

Ok, just wanted your thoughts on it. Sorry about your card.... BUT the new nvidia cards are out very soon so .....wink.gif

I'm thinking of an H60 mod for my 560 Ti, but cooling the VRAM I'm not sure how to do, either a 92mm fan or something else. Has anyone tried something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-SP-FC70-BL-Spectrum-System-Adjustable/dp/B000233ZMU/ref=pd_luc_sim_02_03_t_lh
looks pretty interesting if I had it on the slot under the gpu.

Could try a small fan ziptied round the card or even a fan from a laptop modded on somehow

But what about a PCI fan like this one?
