I'm running dual monitors so the GTX 480 spikes :/

Make sure you don't ever run the pump under 100% power

What do you mean by this? (in the OP)

Edit: nice Kolmain I have done the same thing to my GTX480 just yesterday. have even worse idle temps still at around 49C with dual monitors. I tried to add thermal paste because there wasn't enough on the kuhler but i'm gonna take it off later today and lap it as well.

He means to run the pump at 12v aka 100% aka do not undervolt the pump.

Oh okay, I misinterpreted it to say don't run at 100% power.

Are 460's the 256-bit worth buying like a h80 or h60 for and doing this mod?
post #518 of 8621
@overclocker55
I'd personally go and try out this mod on a cheaper Video Card and get comfortable with how it works. Than id step on up on trying this mod on a $500+ video card. So yea, its only like $60 for an antec kuler 620 so i dont see the harm on trying it out. The difference in temperature and noise level is amazing!thumb.gif

like on my 9500 gt ? or my gts 450

Im not familiar with both video cards, but what i grabbed from reading over 50 pages of this thread and trying out the mod myself is that fitting the cooler head on the video card is the most important part. Most of the people here experimented with the 560 ti so i felt safe looking at other people's success stories before trying it out myself. So if you can safely disassemble the video card and if the cooler head fits on the gpu you should try it. Also, the corsair has shorter tube length compared to the antec kuhlers so you need to plan out where the radiator will go and see if it will be long enough to reach the video card. Planning around the radiator and the tubing was the hardest part for me.
