Very nice. Love how you mounted the fans on top and creating notches for the tubes. I have a similar idea in mind for a PC I built at work.

what case is that?
why not try mount the gpu's x40 in the hard drive cage erea?(just an idea)

cables? you might get lower temps with a bit of tidyin up the cables..

non the less..awsome mod.

i ran a mem usage test on far cry 3..400mb only on the gpu's 1gb..gpu usage @98%
max temps 45°c...cpu 49..cores 44/44/49/44..
ps..ac unit not turn on..all windows closed.ambient room temp 22.

The case is a Thermaltake Commander MS-I.
It doesn't have space for the 140mm radiator/fan in the front panel. The opening is for 120mm.

I agree that the cable management is a little messy. Have to go for it yet.

You want to use a CPU cooler on your video card or just the fan?

No reason you can not use the fan on the card's pwm plug with the right adapter or if like me by cutting off the stock fan cable(new test because speedfan does not always work right[system crash] so I want afterburner to control my fan) smile.gif.

quote:"will this fan"

i had that cooler..now just the fan..its more or less the same @mps.
cant get an adapter..S.Africa blows in pc world..if you dont spend more than 5K @ a time at a store..they dont even bother helping you find what yo realy want..

i want to hook it up so that the rpm & pwm pins are used..then just power from psu or fancontroller..or vise versa...
If you remove the cable from the stock fan you can mod it to control the fan.

If you only send pin 3 and 4 to the card, it will control the fan speed and monitor its speed. You would have to feed 12 volts to 1 and 2.

I will get you an image of my temporary setup(just stuck the bare wires from my stock fan into the pwm plug on my test fan) smile.gif

In the end I want to setup a PWM to voltage adapter(i have scavenged some parts, but will need a strip board for it still) so that I can put my AP15 back(At first I was a bit skeptical, but it does move more air per rpm so that is a good thing). If I come across a cheap NF F12, I may try it as well.

thanx nuke..well i dont want to cut the frozrii coolers wires..their realy short..cant i unpin the cm fan pins for just the rpm and pwm then leave the other two for power from psu?

Yes you can, as long as you can get the 2 other pins to connect to the gpu fan connector(hell solder it if you want), it should work fine.

The fan driver is not quite what would be needed for a computer pwm to voltage converter, it is for a pulse width generator(so it is still pwm at the output) by the look of things.

I tried this, but my recovered transistors are not powerful enough(2 in a darlington configuration work, but I did not quite like the way it worked.).
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/so-you-want-pwm-control-of-your-new-cpu-fan.107135/

This worked with some tweaks.

This thread used to have a diagram for one too, but I think it was recently removed(maybe to help sell more. I am all for selling such a device). I still have this on my breadboard(more or less) and found it worked out quite well.
