Quick question here.
Do i really need custom VRM heatsinks if i manage to mount AIO without removing the metal plate? I probably keep 1 fan pointing towards it. Idea is to go for max overclock with 1.212v mod.

I have an MSI card that also has the metal heat spreader. I've been running mine at +200mhz @ max voltage in MSI AB for a year now. I have a 100mm fan blowing right down on the vram/heat spreader. Evaluating the original twin fan design, they have air pushing through the heat sink, collecting hot air, then pushing that down to the heat spreader. With the AIO cooler there is no more hot air and the air flow is unobstructed to the vram so it's got to be better.

You have to see what this guy did. It´s originally in brazilian Portuguese. The link is for google translation. Even the images will give you an idea of his work ph34r-smiley.gif

He doesn't just use car radiator anti freeze, he uses a car radiator indeed... and a boat pump, a bucket for reservoir, garden hose for tubing, etc.

thumbsupsmiley.png for his creativity.

That 480 looks smexy. If only that IHS would be off the card...mm mm... Delided 480, oh those temps would be great!
Nice job on the heatsinks tho. What did you use to hold them down? Thermal tape?

Thermal glue smile.gif.

The heatsinks and the glue came from an "Arctic Accelero Mono Plus" I attached to a GTX 550 Ti, which didnt need the heatsinks.

Had a Kraken G10 bracket laying around so I attached it earlier today, gonna do some testruns tomorrow. Looks really solid!
