[Official] NVIDIA GPU Mod Club - AKA "The Mod" - Page 565

Hi guys ive expanded my artisan portfolio and will have some gpu backplates coming soon for the 7900 hd 280 and 290 series along with titan 780 and 770.
These are based off the ek n xspc plates but have a seperate fan support.
These will work with all versions of the mod. The nzxt just needs to be clarified.

After a delay with materials and the last batch being damaged, im just awaiting to paint and they will be released to you all.

Check out the thread GPU BACKPLATES - Coming soon.
I have tons of stock

@X-PREDATOR wow that's really cool especially someone that went the extra mile to help you out.

wow things have really been moving along in here.. ;>

@derpa Last year I had a pump cooling two gpus in my sons computer and with me not watching it somehow it got hot.
Air bubble from being put on its side, or dust in radiator, or all of the above.. the orings on the pump fittings got hot and expanded..

I didn't realize this and put this card with the pump on it in my new asus maximus v extreme board.. for one quick benchmark bad idea..
always recheck "known good pumps" before reinstalling.. a small stream of water leaked to the motherboard and whatever component it hit thew up a puff of steam and popping.. noise as the components cracked under the heat.

As our systems age I think its important that they are checked.. Also my system was pulled out and not treated as well as it should have .. I prob grabbed it by the hose.. putting strain on the oring..
Had it been in my machine I would have seen the issue before it happened. But it wasn't.

In retrospect I would have redone the oring and put something like vasoline or something on it. ( after research)

I hope everyone is doing well.

just dumped my 620 on my GTX 770 with a Dwood bracket. It was previously on my old 6870.

initially, had some seating problems, but after a quick reseat, and a run on Unigine Heaven at ultra for 30 minutes it topped out at 54C.

Idling is at 28C.

it had a custom cooler from KFA2 previously, which idled nicely around the high twenties, but topped out at 80C!
nice..im curious..how good are the kfa gpus?

well i got destilled water at chemist this morning..
called water med S supurior to destilled
less than 1us/cm conductivity 1L bottle.
its the closest i could get to pure destilled water..now all i need is a biocide/addative or silver coil..
iv read a few threads now..the few i like the most are very informative...but no one realy tells step by step whats intake..and whats outlet..or how to precisely refill without a res..
my hands are itching to start..cant wait
they're good as far as I can tell.

I got one from Ebuyer as an 'oem' part, it was just in a brown box with the driver CD, got it for £215 so I wasnt too annoyed when I got one with the custom cooler when I expected the titan style cooler.

Its been running great since I've had it.

*edit* and I just remembered, it came without a heat spreader on the gpu core, which is nice.
