my favourate part...the shroud..i love this silver red combination..im either keepin as is or putting my design on it..just hope itll fit my gpu..probably will be too big..this old xt2900 is a real football field..near 30cm long..my 560 isnt nearly that big..my plan is to take a twinforii fan and attach it on top of the fan hole ..then make matching screw holes so itll easily just bolt on ontop of the gpu cool brackets bolts..any other ideas are welcome

So I'm going to remove the metal plate factory and I'll use heatsinks for VRM and VRAM chips.

I do this to have more experience and build a future with specialized custom watercooling parts, (EK waterblocks and XSPC rads for example) one must know how to walk, for learn to run. wink.gif

Now I can recommend some special paste to paste the VRM heatsinks and VRAM or I can use my Noctua NT-H1?

As far as I know you will get the best performance with Gelid Solutions GC Extreme, but the Noctua NT-H1 did perform adequately as a good allrounder and is definitely the best bang for the buck. You could of course get even better temps by using Coollaboratory Liquid Pro and Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra but those are a lot of work to remove and highly conductive if you would be as unfortunate as to spill something outside of the die.

My advice is that if you already have the Noctua then use that, if you are all out then decide if you got enough money for the Gelid in the proper amount if not then the Noctua is still your best bang for the buck.

That shroud isn't tall enough to fit the pump underneath it, if you cut a hole for it and the tubing to pass through then it will work. Otherwise I think the shroud will be a few millimeters from the PCB.

Look on youtube fir panzer pc...
He modded h70 pumps extensively..he used it as a block only after gutting the motor out..git good results by the things i read..but that involves a dedicated pump..so that leads to just as well getting a pump..240 rad..res..ect..i dunno..
If it was me..id go for new aio..
Something like the cm eisbergs..the custom one were you could expand..but thats in same category as x220..and so forth
Ah, forgot about those videos - thanks!

I'm wondering if a single 620's pump could handle the extra ~13cm or so of tubing needed for a 620pump-6cm-620block-33cm-rad-40cm SLI setup - basically adding ~13cm of tubing and a gutted 620 block to a single 620. I might even be able to make the route shorter if I move my radiator from it's exhaust position to an intake position. I've looked around at a bunch of AIO mods but haven't been able to find anyone who's done something quite like that.

I could buy two new AIOs, but then I may as well just sell and upgrade my GTX 470s and Kuhler 620 for a faster, quieter, single-card solution (MSI/ASUS 760 would be in reach). I'm only considering modding my 620s because it'd basically be free tongue.gif. I plan on upgrading to the quietest aftermarket 870/880 when they're available and upgrading to full water if that's not quiet enough for me. I'm pretty noise-conscious and probably won't be happy until I have a 540mm and passive 120mm setup for my FT02 - hopefully I won't have to spend that cash redface.gif

true enough..i cant wait to see what the new cards might yield..hopefully not just a minor tweak to current cards twist..
...
@rain..i know im gonna have to cut..ive got a hole sheet of this red acrylic also..so i can just as well make my own shroud too..which i think i am..for i can actualy sell this xt card right away and make a few...best thing is i got this for free..swapped it for a 40gb ide hd.card still works and everything..can even handle a bit of games still..just gotta get new thermal padding for the cooling plate..the actual heatsink on the die was a surprise to me - its 100% copper..ive never seen these old cards with copper heatsinks...only the crappy aluminium..

hence i did say im open too ideas..its 06:27 am here now..been up since 5.30...and i did realize i might have an issue with the fitting..my h60 still has the corrigated tubing..very stiff..and i like the way i have it setup now in the pcie case vents....makes it neat and easy..less tension on tubing.

@ 620 guy..iv not tabood with these much..but i dont think a single 620's pump has enough oomph to handle that much pull...
i might be wrong..ive seen a h50 mod long ago..the dude used the one pump
on two rads very short tube runs..like literaly less than 10cm..but he tweaked the pumps power..took the second h50pumps power leads and soldered them into the one..dunno if it actualy dd pull more power or not..but he thaught so..
hope you get it sorted..

how much fluid is needed in total to rinse and refill these aio's ?..
