much better results compared to stock, i switched cards & repositioned rads, also turned the 920 cpu cooler around so pipes are at the top.

fantastic job, looks sharp. They are quiet now arent they. I still laughing as i can play bf2 with my speakers on 2 and still hear every noise and not wake the whole house up while late night gaming.

Nice work! What cards are you using so I can addto the list? thumb.gif

I had a similar problem with one card running +8c over the other. It was a bad seat. after a couple of tries I finally got it on par with the other. I swear i must have removed and reseat a half dozen times on both cards to finally get it right. smile.gif

both are reference cards, one an Asus ENGTX480 and the other is an Inno3D GTX480

usually the card that is on top is the hottest, i have no idea why, today they are both idling @ 32c. If i could mount the rads outside the case, i'll bet they would go below 30c

anyways, it will take a short while for the TIM to cure (arctic silver 5) so temps should be better in a few days.

The new brackets, 300% more universal, they theoretically fit all modern gpus. These are some that will be shipped tomorrow.

My GTX 680 hit a snag but I just ordered an EVGA one and it should be here sometime this week.

Guys, I think I'll add my 2 cents to this thread again.
If any of you are considering doing this mod, it seriously will probably be the best thing you could do for a GPU. I just removed my 620 in plan for receiving my 580. The 560 is back on stock Asus Direct CUII cooling. Even with the heat spreader modded it just doesn't compare to having the antec cooler on it. One, I noticed right away is noise. I modded the shroud on the 560 and its even quieter now but still nothing compared to the antec 620. I freak when my card hits 62C now when gaming. I got used to the nice and cool 35-37C gaming with the Antec 620. I'm now looking forward to seeing what this 620 can do on the die of a 580.

When I took off the 620 on the 560 today I went ahead and lapped the surface a little more in consideration that the 580 die will be about twice the size and I want to make sure the 620 has perfect contact on the die. I also added a scythe 110CFM slipstream fan to the push side of the radiator, then I kept the antec fan as pull.

Check it out! Totally a FTW must for GPU's! I gained 80MHz clock with the IHS and 620 mods, only limited by max bios vcore. (pic is before the antec fan is on the pull)
450

I'll get pics up of the 580 after I mod it! thumb.gif
