I like the way youve used the original mount....very pro thumb.gif I like to keep everything as stock as possable for rma but if your not worried about sending it back this is a better solution when the pcb is naked and free of the heatplate.

Good guide nice pics, clean and neat.
When I first got the cooler I saw how everyone used the zip tie around the cooler to hold the other 4 zip ties in place. I hated how that one main zip tie was starting to bend or flex under the tension of the other 4 holding the cooler onto the chip. My goal was to eliminate any possibility of there becoming slack on the system. Hence using the original mount but still having to use the 4 zip ties. I think the Intel mount was very close to the holes for the 560 but it also sat higher since I had no heat spreader so that wouldn't have worked if I left the original mount.

I think the zip ties are good to upto 80C or something like that. I got readings of 62C on the PCB so I'll have to watch that a little when benching.
I'll hopefully find some stock photos of the original mount by itsself in a few days and use my MS paint skills and make the guide more visual. Just to help ya all out so there's no dumb mistakes...

My two cents are that all the spoiler tags make the OP less readable. Their use doesn't even make a whole lot of sense, nobody is going to want to pick and choose what steps to look at. If you want to look at the guide you want to look at the whole guide, not just step 3 or just step 5 or whatever. I felt the same about the IHS removal guide's use of spoilers. Maybe if you really want to use spoilers then just put then entire guide into one spoiler, rather than broken up into 10 spoilers.

EDIT: Actually I was mistaken, I clicked on the one spoiler that did have the five steps as separate spoilers and figured that all the other sections also had more sub spoilers. I'd still prefer to have the one with five subspoilers made into just one spoiler but other than that one it seems okay to me. smile.gif

very nice improvement on the first page, very clean and tidy. This is looking very good rage, nice job guys.

Ive ordered my sleeved cable extentions and will be posting my pics soon i hope. I went with the Corsair sleeved kit for the AX1200, i know i own a seasonic but im going to make them work if i can, return them if i cant. For the cost its a worthwhile effort me thinks. Also if anyone has any experiance with poping the pins and suggestions for tracing the two cable sets i would be most gratefull. Im out of my comfort zone on this one big time. Too bad those damn cables are so sexy. I went with white....for a future build i have in mind.

Did a quick mod the other day just to see if I could fit two Antec 620's into a stock HP case. It was a older computer that my wife used and I hated it. So when the mobo crapped I got in on a MC discount combo deal with a 2500k and Gigabyte Mobo. Specs: http://www.overclock.net/lists/display/view/id/3988606

Then that meant I just had to get another GTX 480 and slap an Antec 620 on it! tongue.gif

Then the CPU felt lonely without a proper cooler so I slapped an Antec on him as well. weirdsmiley.gif

But will it fit? Barely! I had to mod the side to accommodate the 120mm fans and put a small intake on the left side.

700

450

450

Its not meant as a permanent solution. Just was a challenge to see if I could fit two units in a stock case. Airflow is poor, cant really overclock the card much. Its either a junk card or poor airflow. Was able to OC the 2500K to 4.5ghz tho!

Spoke to soon...was able to get a decent OC on the GPU tongue.gif

Which Pavilion is that? I I used to own a CTO A6600Z with the old MCP68 Asus M2N68-LA. I gave it to my brother when I built my current rig. had it maxed out with a AM2 Athlon64 x2 4800+, 4GB DDR2 ADATA 800MHz (only shows 800 on 1 DIMM), and a Alienware GTX260 1.5GB (55nm, Reference design, Severely underclocked from Alienware). With good wire management, (shoving as many wires as possible in the HDD tray/Spare 5.25" tray) you can get pretty decent temps with that case. I put a old K6 processor fan behind the panel where you have your left fan, and attached it to the Chasis fan plug on the motherboard (to shut up the warning you can't turn off in HP's BIOS, and to blow some air on the 1.5TB WD Green), then bought a **** loud but high CFM Aluminum Evercool fan to fit the stock hole for the rear fan, $8USD. I LOVED that case, but it was Damn small, my GTX460 barely fit in it, and stuck out past the mATX board in it.

Its an HP p6320y. I yanked the crap mobo/Phenom 820 and HD tray. I have the HDD and the SSD in where the front empty bay expansion is. Everything else plugged right in, DVD etc. I had an old Antec BP550 Plus 550W PSU laying around so I slapped it in and seems to work fine. Theres a small left side intake i added as well.

Nice work, there Rage, I love the motherboard orientation on the case. But looks like it needs some more cable management tongue.gif
You might wana replace that 550w Antec PSU Bud. You are taking a risk there, I had a 650W Silverstone and it couldn't handle a single GTX480 + Overclocked 9400 Quad Core without crashing in games. Those 480's can eat up a whole lotta juice under load. I think they did some tests that said it would draw upwards of 380W's under heavy load.

@ Reaver, hey bud you mind giving me a hand with my other question. tongue.gif I am really trying to get this thing working with my reservoir, just need the right sized barbs now. smile.gif

Yeah im going to yank all that out and either use it for a HTPC or another rig using the Corsair 400R case I been eyeing. It was more of challenge to see if I could stuff all that into that case. The Antecs water lines are pretty flexible and was surprised they fit without any problems.
