Question!? - has anyone gone about doing this mod like i am? ie: running custom loop with ther corsair/antec pumps? just curious as it would be nice to get some input from other mod'ers who may have tried this

I think I read about someone doing that, a GPU and a CPU. I remember reading that their temps weren't that good, probably due to their pumps not being able to handle the increased heat from more than one device.

i have yet to see any degrading effects on mine. but im also not running a huge o.c on either my cpu/gpu (4ghz on cpu, 900/2000 on gpu) i have however seen a HUGE difference in my air cooled card to my liquid cooled. about 8*c cooler at idle then my bottom card (air cooled) and atleast 40-45*c cooler under benchmark loads.

Going to order a bracket from Dwood though, not crazy about using zip ties... and ofcourse I will order it in the NVIDIA green color smile.gif
I'm also considering buying a 12mm fan to put on bottom to make it a push/pull setup. Anything bigger though would not fit since it will hit my memory.

Any feedback on those?

Made a couple minor changes to my original setup... Put a thinner fan on the bottom, and the original on top to make it a push/pull. Getting even better results then before.

Just waiting now for my bracket from Dwood to complete the project, and i'm guessing it will be 25c to 30c less on full load from stock setup. Couldn't be more happier thumb.gif

After a lot of help and advice from Erik in Sac, I managed to recreate his pressure plate mod on my GTX 580 DS Superclocked and keep my shroud intact.

I widened the pcb's holes to fit 6-32 thread to allow me the screw length for both the mounting plate and a protective backplate for the card. I lapped the 620 and used MX-2 on the GPU and VRM's. I also added in the aftermarket Swiftech heatsink and kept 1 fan in the shroud, so the ram and vrm's are quite cool.

This combination has produced great results for me. 29c idle, 45c under gaming load. Top that with the Corsair 550d and I have a dead silent monster truck.

Unfortunately I forgot to take closeups during the actual process because I was so frustrated doing it lol.

AWSOME!!! You did a great job!!! How do you find your Corsair H100? I keep thinking of upgrading my H50 to a H100 but dont know if its worth it?

nice mod crimzn smile.gif

@darylrese, im using h100 atm and the only difference i noticed from my previous h70 was the load temps drop by -10c and only a push set up atm too.but temps varies on ambient & vcore.

edit: little input of my last week experiment of h70 & h100 before & after.

h70 4.8ghz @ 1.38v - 76C max temp only -3C drop if i put it as intake set up.
h100 4.8ghz @ 1.38v - 65C max temp
h100 5ghz @ 1.4v - 72 max temp

all was run at 23C ambient room temp so for me it worth un upgrade.

I think the Corsair H100 is great. I mainly got it because of how it's made to fit in my case, because I haven't really pushed my processor yet. Got a very easy 4.0ghz with no other necessary changes than the FSB.

I imagine the differences between the two would only come into play while pushing the processors limits. I've seen people topping at 50c with the 2500k @ 4.5ghz + H100 and 70c with 2500k @ 4.8ghz + H100. I myself don't benchmark, just game, and I'm pretty sure I've removed any bottlenecks, so I'll probably just leave my processor alone.

My ram is a different story. I can pull 9-9-9-24 only if I drop down to 1333mhz. Of course 6x4gb is some serious slot density, so I jacked my volts to QPI 1.35 and Ram 1.65 and still couldn't boot. So I may try ripping two sticks out and see if that helps since I can't use the extra 8gbs anways.

thanks mate! All that memory looks pretty though doesnt it smile.gif I paid the extra and got the 8-8-8-24 8GB 1600mhz Vengeance kit when i bought mine.

I have my i5 2500k stable with H50 idle is around 28c per core and load about 50c gaming and about 65 - 70c when running prime. H100 could be a waste of money for me but it would free up my rear 120mm slot so that i can mod my GTX 580 with my old H50 and mount the radiator in the same place!
