Which one is the ultimate case for gamers? - Page 4

to be honest i dont really know how antec and lian li got into this discussion. I was wondering which caselabs would be best for gaming more than anything. However, after my many discussions on here I think all of them are suited to it. It is just more of form factor you want and how big of a motherboard you think you might use in the future.

I will say that I am defenitely looking for an H in the name of the case as they all can have the hptx motherboard in it and I have a hard time believing the SR3 will be any bigger than that.

So now I need to decide if I want to have a single wide tower and not have to bend over to put in a disk or to have a double wide. I have always been a sucker for double wide case but at the same time I love that STH10.....as I have said before, the wife will decide.

I would go M10 or TH10 depending on how many rads you want to have IMO its 2 x 480 or 4 x 480 lol i went 4 x 480 smile.gif

The PC-V2120 is a nice case friend has one (w/ sr2) however there are a few issues.
1. You can really only fit 1x 360 in the case and you will need to mount the fans on the outside of the case unless you get a super slim rad and if you want to cool more than your CPU you temps will be poor.

2. Due to the front panel door system lian li cases run hot the air flow isn't great I currently own a PC-A20 with current rig in it's quite similar to the PC-V2120 I have every installed fans at every possible location just to improve the poor air flow i believe i have 11 fans in this case currently airflow is not great.

3. Build quality and water cooling - The build quality of my TH10 is far better than my lian li PC-A20. And offcourse you don't need to mod your case to install decent WC.

4. And price offcourse the both the TH10 and M10 are at least in AU prices (ignoring shipping) Are $100+ cheaper I think it's an easy choice if you live in the USA .

O and the reason why I believe the PC-V2120 was mention is it happens to be the only high end case (that i'm aware of) that can fit a hptx mb in it.

Well I am getting a caselabs for sure. Not sure if I am going to go with an H series or not anymore as I dont know if the HPTX will be worth while in the future....

One thing I am also contemplating is the 360 rad vs. 480......360 tend to be cheaper so I may wind up with t10 or m10 with pedastal....not entirely sure....

Finances are tight at this moment in time but mh10,t10,th10, sth10....we will see what I have room for....I like the STH10 best but I am trying to look at complete costs.

If you get the STH10 you can go with affordable 180.3 radiators, much more area than a 360 or 480 but a similar price to a 480.

Agreed with the rumors on the overclocking of the xeons I suspect X79 or IB is the way to go depending on memory/pcie needs. Unless of course you need tons of threads, but if you know you need that, then you know you need HPTX

where would that fit best in the STH10?

I was thinking that those airplex modularity would be nice with the copper fins and integrated pump....and the copper fins would add to the look as well....

However, they are a bit pricey.

They may be pricey I got the 1st TH10. But you are paying for quality of the case.

I have never owned a Case Labs case but after reading the reviews, seeing one in action, and looking at the builds that are possible with them (on OCN of course) I have decided that even if I have to remortgage my house, I will own a Case Labs case for my next desktop PC lol.

When you pick your case/parts you going to do a build log?

ha, yea there will be a build log but I think it is going to be a while at the moment. I lost my job....so no dinero for a build at the moment....so I am planning....

why?

Well one, I am obsessive
Two, I really want to do it right, even if i just do a cpu loop at first and then add the gpu loop....or vice versa
