7950 w/ H60i. Dwood bracket required modification and guess work. Took 4 tries and sanding to get this to work. Temps don't exceed 66C in bench, 61C in game (cry3), and is whisper quiet with GT 1850rpm fan in push config.

I used these for the memory heatsinks - cheap and a 95% perfect fit with good adhesive.

DON'T use these - they are too tall, not wide enough, and the adhesive is utter ****.

Hope this helps someone. Feel free to ask me questions

I have an H110 in my case right now. Does anyone know if that would be a good fit to put on my 7950? Thanks!

Have you touched the top of the rad and do you have a second fan to try a push/pull?

With a single fan on my H70 the radiator was getting really hot to the touch, and adding the second fan dropped 2-3C and helped a bit, but its still hot. Hotter then the first rad after my TEC waterblock on a OC'd 3770k(~350+watts of heat).

A hot rad just shows that the block is doing its job and the mount is good, and you need either a larger radiator or higher CFM fans smile.gif. When my new case comes in and I have more room I'll probably mod it into a dual 120mm rad with micro res - should make a big difference judging by how hot the rad is getting. Also will get rid of the god-awful stiff PITA tubing.

I have a reference 7950 that I'm looking to do this mod to since the fan noise is just unbearable. I already have an H60 ready to go. Do I need anything beyond zip-ties and a copper shim? It looks like Dwood isn't sending anything out currently, so I'm going to have to wait on a bracket. Where would I get a copper shim if Dwood is currently nonexistant? Thanks in advance!

I bought an EK 7970 copper shim but it's not thick enough for Dwood's specific bracket. The shim is good to make the die level with the surrounding frame.

^this is the only place I've found it for cheap

I managed to buy one of Dwood's brackets off of another user. Would the shim you linked to not work with the bracket? How thick are Dwoods shims?

I can only speak for the H60i/H80i/H100i bracket pictured above in my post; the EK shim will not work. Dwood's is at least 2-3 times thicker.

measure the thickness of the bracket, and then match it for the shim.

Well I'd be using the same bracket you're using. I'm really doubting that Dwood's shims would get here anytime soon, so it looks like I'd need to get a shim from somewhere else. Any chance you could measure your bracket thickness? If you have any idea where i could get a shim of the right thickness as well, that'd be great. Thanks!
