The shroud is the heat spreader for them.
It often gets stuck down on to the ram and vrm's quite well from the repeated heating and cooling of the thermal pads.

Here some pics of one bear.

My 6950 is a reference card and I'm just wondering if it has a heat spreader for the ram n vrm chips as I can't get the shroud off.
If someone knows a guide take shroud off would be great.
I clipped the clips and took out screws at end n won't budge

It should just come off when you have taken all the screws out. The ones in the end bit and the ones on the bottom side. Then just lift it... the thermal paste will hold it a bit but it should come off easily.

Thanks guys, looks like hs stuck to vrm cooler thing.
Would I have any problems running with nothing on the ram or vrm.
Going try the enzotech mos-c10 chips n see if that would help.

Ram should be fine with nothing on it at stock clocks but you will want some thing on the VRMs.

I've just found a gelid hd6900 vrm heat sink for £6 inc postage so that will suffice. Just thinking how to put the backplate back on.

I have a 200mm side intake and 200mm front intake on my case but they sit below the card.
I've modded a 140mm fan in the drive bays right behind the card.

Would the antec fit in push pull at the back with a push pull h100 in the top.

Thanks for your help n sorry if I a pain
