What card do you have that the manufacturer is honoring your warranty after cooler change?
Or did you just swap the stock back on?

I'm just putting it back on, not telling them I swopped it.

Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. For me, my Sapphire cards didn't have any stickers indicating the cooler been tampered with. My XFX card that I just got, had a couple.

FYI XFX doesn't mind if you are in North America and swop coolers. The stickers are for their Non-North American customers.

Thanks for the info. Funny they only trust N. Americans?

Do you know if this is in any writing?
Sounds very... weird.

Here's an example.Look for "modder friendly". Also, to make sure, I sent them an e-mail. They told me I could replace the cooler, it's just that if there was any damage due to my doing, it wouldn't be covered by warranty.

Well, exactly..
How would they determine between it being your doing, or the card just combusting due to overclocking or say, by chance?

I would think this gives them the chance to deny any and all RMAs regardless, but that's just me.

I think it's obvious stuff, like if you knocked over a capacitor or scratched a big hole in the PCB. So far, this is going to be my 2nd RMA sent in. I'm guessing as long as it's not super-obvious physical damage, they accept it. In my case, I'm not even sure what happened, as my card ran fine for a week before mysteriously dying. No OC, no "the mod", nothing. I tried to fit the mod, but realised it made a tiny scratch, so I took it off. Week later it won't post.
