why not use a real water cooling plate on the card and a real system? what are the benefits of this? seems VRMs dont get cooled and just the chip does?

Because I don't have $400 to spend on nice WC and the blocks are about $100 too.
Dwood has a bracket that has a fan mount to cool VRM.

i was just asking an honest question.........
an antec 620 costs $60 and you can only cool one thing...

a water cooling kit can cost you as low as $120 for a VERY VERY DECENT ONE, which you can expand add radiators add more pumps and continually add

im trying to understand why people are spending $60-100 to cool one thing when they can spend the same amount to invest in a real system

$400 system isnt what i was referring to. simple kits cost $100....

you could also get a block for $50, i think the best 7970 block is about 114$ though except im sure a block made for cooling the card will be alot more effecient than the bootleg setup right?

im not trying to down anyone im just trying to understand because itoo would like to cool my card more than the amazing stock heatsink does

If I were to go full WC, I expect to go full ass on it. Buying high quality parts and all that jazz.
Though seeing that I'm on a 965 (average OC is about 4 GHz) and that I usually go to my friends place to LAN, it would be too cumbersome to invest in a true WC.
As for the mod; the 620 was purchased for $30 when it was on sale and VRAM/VRM heatsinks and the mod itself can be swappable for future upgrades.
Basically I've spent about $60 for pseudo GPU water cooling.

The mod is transferable to other cards aswell where as new cards need new blocks adding cost all the time
