in hwinfo64 i have two entry for the gpu for the 2 chipset , first ATI gpu with 4 temps , gpu and vram freqency and fan
the second is CHIL8214 : it give me 2 VRM temp, VRM voltage GPU 12v voltage and GPU VRM current.

so i m pretty sure i have them and the value is the same as gpu-z

this card is on my secondary rig and it seems like it's shy and doesn't like screenshot apparently (not doing anything ,....) , i m gonna investigate a bit and edit if i can get one.

I don't really get better temp with the h110 then the 920 on the gpu for the info, pretty much the same but my h110 have stock fan pushing and 2 x 120 noctua flow (not the static pressure one :S) for pulling because they have no more corsair sp 140mm in stock where i live,...

here is a photos of my screen , i don't have the time to fix the problem now ,..... i have windows open and it s about 3 celcius outside , cpu is at 37-40 max.

I had one misplaced VRAM heatsink due to the 620 taking part of it's space, so I doubt it's going to fit.

hi guys and gals.. i have reccomended the asetek closed loop coolers for a while now and i was just on newegg and now Thermaltake selling what looks like their own closed loop system..
It looks similar to the asetec unit but if you look closely it is not the kits we have been using.
( not sure who makes the pump yet but big water has been a thermaltake brand for a while )

I do not suggest this model. I do not suggest this model.
Thermaltake Bigwater A80 CLW0214 Water Cooling Kit

People on newegg have posted problems with the hoses leaking!
16 reviews 5 leaked one fried two mobos. ( according to the reviews)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106205&nm_mc=AFC-C8JUNCTION&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JUNCTION-_-EMC-030813-Latest-_-WaterCooling-_-35106205-L026B&PID=3938566&AID=10446076

Im not the type to post negative stuff in the forum but i almost bought one till i looked closely at it and then read the reviews.. which i usully take with a grain of salt.. however 6 people out of 16 reviews had physical damage to their systems.

Again this is the big water brand from thermaltake.
I would buy any asetek unit no matter who rebrands it but I would never buy one of the above kits.

I currently own and am very happy with
two asetech dual clc kits
two thermaltake water 2.0 extreme 240 rad ( asetek )
two thermaltake water 2.0 pro 120x 49mm rad ( asetek )
sunset1

Edit: I should also say that sometimes there are production run issues that werent
noticed at the factory with any item.. so its possible they have solved the problem and if i hear that has happened and a reasonable time has passed they could possibly be a worthwhile option in the future.
The main reason i posted this was the fact that the photos on newegg looked similar to the
asetek units that i had come to trust as a great product for the money. Again i have not used this product and would have bought one to test but 6 out of 16 with major issues sends up a huge red flag. Also it seems that newegg has procedures in place that helped at least some of these people out ( again according to the reviews ) . I buy a lot of parts from newegg and these comments are definitely not directed at them. Newegg is my first go to place for computer hardware and i have had excelent service from that company.

Have a great weekend everyone and happy modding!

HELP!!!!!!!!!

I just installed an adetek cooler (gpu and cpu) that i got on ebay. I have it hooked up to TWO 7970 cards, one msi lightning and one msi reference.

When I took off the twin frozer fans and heat sink and installed the cooler, my lightning card would not let me use more than one monitor. About 3 seconds after I plug in another monitor, windows 8 shuts down.

If I restart, I get the ROG symbol, but if I leave two monitors hooked up, even in the bios, the pc turns off after a few seconds.

What did I screw up here?
Ok, so I put the Twin Frozr back on the lightning card and it works fine. I am guessing there is some info being sent back by those fans that the asetek did not send?

That sucks because I cant get that card to cool off under load without manually adjusting them, and they sound like a flippin jet airplane.

Someone requested pics, so here it is, half naked.
Sorry, here are the pics. IMAG0526.jpg 1879k .jpg file

If anyone can give me some ideas on hooking this up properly (with a lightning edition 7970) I am all ears. I ordered some brackets from "dwood" today, and when they come I am going to try again. This time I am going to put the cpu cooler of the lightning card and the gpu cooler on the reference card, and take the original mSI Lightning fans and try to find a way to hook them up in that bracket.
ok i have done a few mods and i just got the msi r7970 pe in yesterday but havent taken it apart yet.
i do know that the 2nd pump has that real small conector on it..
btw the kits that asetek sells dont come with fans.

im putting my son down but i have a few things to double check with you so ill make it quick.
you can get a gelid power adapter kit for your fans that run off the power supply not thru the mobo but it has a pwm and a speed sensor cable.
there is also an adapter for the small 4pin connector.
when i did one of the mods with the dual clc on a trinity the video card didnt have a 4 pin fan connector so i cut one end off and spliced it into the 2nd pump power lead.

does your card need a shim? did you use one? dwood sells them.
if you are getting the bracket with the fan spacer from dwood use that adapter for each card above if they use the small 4pin vga conector (power connector fo vga card)

make sure the shim didnt shift when you installed it and put non conductive non capacitive thermal paste on both sides of the shim. mx-4 is just one example of that kind of paste.

when you are running a clc on that mobo your vrms on the motherboard can get hot.. so get some air moving over them some use a fan right above the vrms between the pump and the input output ports on the back of the case. ( some lay one side of the fan on the top of the connectors. ) saw this in the sabertooth forums.

make sure the vrms have heatsinks on them especially on that lightning. also memory heatsinks.
make sure they are getting good airflow.. if you check everything out and its ok and you are going to fire it up..put a box fan on the side of the case and monitor temps with gpu-z there is a checkbox to run it in the background .. i used 3dmark 11 to test my card.

i dont see the radiator in the photo.. is it by the power supply? if so there is a possiblility that the pump is drawing air. those kits arent ful lof water. There is some air in them from the factory.

if it is on the bottom blowing out? make sure there is suffecient clearance to get the hot air out.
id take the rad out of the case with the tube connections at the bottom of the radiator and mock up an install on the card and watch temps.. an easy way to do this is with one of those cheap harbor freight infra red hand held temp gun.. the ones with a laser. i point it around the cards and monitor temps when i first fire it up..
btw i always test the pumps and rad outside the case because one messup at the factory with a hose can cause many problems for that beautiful puter of yours.
any questions you can always pm me.. If i get time ill look at the card later on.
i just realized i think i need a shim for mine.. and the adapters.. Doh!

Thanks for the reply! Once I got the lightning back to stock I got my 6 monitors back.

I just ordered the shims. They are necessary. Playing Arkham City the lightning was at 50 degrees and the reference was at 85.

Asetek website said that the pump ran at full speed all the time. No need for any way to adjust it.

I'll give it one more shot. I hate that jet engine sound..
im just glad the cards are ok. :>
check out thiese posts and reead back as im sure some did the mod..
the 4 in one adapter helps out especially in your build to get some amps off of the mobo.
those tracers are thin and you can power the fans with a molex 4 pin and still get pwm if you want to keep the noise down when its not showing killer graphics.

but a low amp draw fan for the vrms would be nice to be run by the card
thats what the small adapter is for .. thermal control for the vrm and memory fans.
as it heats up ramping up the fans.. or you can use a custom profile in msi afterburner. I installed my card today and checked it out.

I have been told that the bracket can move around a bit when you are liining it up so before you power up the card double check the position... just to be on the safe side.

well good luck and please follow up with insights and photos because im going to do the mod after i get the shim and its about time i ordered a dwood bracket as much as i tell people about them. ;>
super nice guy.
