Closed loop cooler h60 antec 620.
I took a pic and was about to post in classified before I realized I forgot to include a card with my username on it. I'll be re-doing that pic some time soon but I wanted to let y'all know I'm selling my 620 with dwood's bracket if anyone need one. Just let me know via pm.

I forgot to update this after I got the classified up but it has been sold now.

How can you tell whether or not a shim is required? I'm planning on picking up a pair of Gigabyte 7970 OC cards.

Your stock heatsink will look something like this. Notice the raised surface.

That being said, I used copper shims on my XFX DD 7970's and the temps were absolute garbage. I don't know if it was because I wasn't getting good core contact or if it was something else, but my PC would shut down after about 10 seconds to avoid damaging the cards. I decided to go ahead without the shims and my temps were better and there was no shutdown. I'm still getting artifacting/driver crashes in Bioshock Infinite, but that may be more to do with how terrible these cards are at overclocking. Temps never exceed 80 C (and they would frequently reach mid 90's on air) and there is much less noise now.

I'm going to buy a new GPU soon and i was wondering which of theese would be better:

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/12838275/art/generique/radeon-hd-7950-oem-3-gb-g.html (with antek 620 mounted to it)
Or
http://www.pixmania.com/dk/dk/12781961/art/sapphire-technology/radeon-hd-7950-vapor-x-3.html

They will cost about the same in total and i was wondering which would be the best in terms of temps, performance and noise. I hope you guys have some input. thumb.gif
