Crysis 2 + DX11 Update + High Resolution Textures = Sluggish FPS (GTX570 SLi) ? ? ? - Page 2

By any chance, did you upgrade to the last NVIDIA beta drivers?

I had the same problem when I upgraded to these drivers with my GTX580 SLI, so I had to rollback to the previous WHQL smile.gif

Yah I am playing on the 296.10 (something like that iirc someone correct me if need be, posting from a phone sucks) to get decent frame rates. My cards didn't like the beta drivers.

Edit

I also came home today to play some Crysis and had crappy frame rates and found that Windows 7 had conviently disabled SLI for me. So check that. You may want to have MSI afterburner open on a second monitor while playing just to make sure both GPUs are being used.

Don't forget that whenever you change drivers, SLI is conveniently left disabled ... but that's nV's fault, not Windows 7.

Also, no need for a 2nd monitor when the Afterburner OSD (onscreen display) is everyone's friend thumb.gif

Yes, well ... most of the rest of us never want to hear the words '20 fps' within earshot. I notice it instantly when my FPS drops from 60 to 45 ... and I don't like it. 20fps would make me start crying.

Perhaps if the OP ever decides to return, he'd post some Crysis 2 benchmark results, that way some other folks with similar rigs can post there's, running the same settings ... then we can see if, in fact, the performance he's getting is actually far off from what's expected.

Honestly, I never noticed any difference at all when I went from Crysis 2 release version to DX11 + High Res version. It all looked the same to me, so I just leave it in DX9 mode. Unfortunately for me though with only one GPU, I can only pump out about 45-55 FPS on average frown.gif
