Antec Kuhler 620 - mounting fan outside of case = too noisy?

guys, I need your expertise, I was working on a friends PC, he just got the evga classified motherboard to replace his asus p6t. before he was using a antec kuhler 620 in a sweet push pull setup. Anyhow now the classy boards nb heatsink is so big that its blocking me from installing the second fan, thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

what do I do? there is about 1cm clearance that's required. I was thinking about mounting the antec fan outside the case but worried if it would look too ghetto or be too noisy??
Or I could replace it with one of those slim slip streem fans? I really want to mount it in the rear tongue.gif

I would go with it mate with 1 fan external to the case. Keep the push/pull confguration. FYI I ran my old H50 with the rad and 1 fan and really didn't notice that much of a difference. example case/rad/fan (from the outside in) I had the fan blowing out of the case.

I was also thinking the same thing, I mean right now its case > antec fan > kuhler rad > second 120mm fan ( from the inside of the case). now if I was to put the antec fan out side the case it would be antec fan > case > kuhler rad > second 120mm fan.

but I was just worried if it would increase the noise level or in the fear of making it look ghetto? is there an alternate to keeping two fans?

Thanks. +reps thumb.gif

ops, looks like its the antec 920, not 620!
is there any way to make this thing fit inside rear of any case with the classified? I want to keep everything inside for artistic purposes.

could use some help here! wave2.gif
just moved he fan outside, and i am noticing the noise! when it was inside it was one with the system, now it feels extra. if i unplug the antec fan the system is almost wiper quite, but with it plugged in, at 3am, it sure is noticeable arrowheadsmiley.png guess a antec's 80cfm fan gotta make some noise.

anybody wana suggest me something? put it all inside with slimmer fans? use only one fan? cut the heatsink? fyi: I also mounted the whole rad upside down, and even the pumps making some noise of the water traveling. hope that goes away after awhile poke.gif
