Is the Samsung Galaxy S II the best phone I can get right now? I have AT&T.

I had the 3gs and got a S II Skyrocket this Christmas. Such a vast improvement for apps, videos, audio quality, and just about everything else. That has my vote thumb.gif.

If you are going to get an android, on ATT, get the skyrocket...

Like some people have pointed out earlier, the phone is nearly immaculate. The only shortcoming is the resolution.

It's a negative, making the screen bigger doesn't partial negate it, it makes the low res even worse.

The Original S2 is faster than the Skyrocket...

Yes, the two use completely different CPU/GPU's from completely different companies. As most overclock.net users know, how much ghz doesn't tell the whole story, it's all about the architecture...

Edit: Plus if flashing different roms is your kinda thing, the regular S2 (SGH-I777) shares about 95% of the internals of the international Galaxy S2 (I-9100) so it opens up a whole other world of roms and mods.

So ya, everyone says go for the Skyrocket if you are going to stick with AT&T and I completely agree, BUTTTTTTTT... THE GALAXY NOTE COMES OUT ON FEBRUARY 18TH!!! So ya, you could wait for that which will be better. It will have a MASSIVE 5.3" SAMOLED HD 1280x800 display and have an S pen. I go to use the AT&T LTE version at CES and it was AWESOME! I got 24Mbps download on LTE and 12Mbps up. It's also supposed to get ICS soon, and you can overclock it to 1.7Ghz +.

So ya you can get skyrocket now, or get the Note in 2 weeks.

the original S2 uses the Exynos, the skyrocket has a Qualcomm chip, so yes despite the clock speed difference the OG S2 is still faster.
