[Intel] X79 Express Chipset Transitioning from C-0 to C-1 Stepping - Page 2

Sorry for being a noob here but is this saying that the c2 3930k that was supposed to be released last friday is bogus? I thought the reason they have been on back order all this time was because they were making the new chip c2. Now this isn't going to happen until March?

The C-2 revision of the 3930K is completely confirmed, and will be in stock very soon. Intel supposedly started shipping them on Friday. A few shops in germany have them in stock and nuhi already has one. This document is about a stepping change for the chipset on the motherboard, not for the CPU. The CPUs were already at the C-1 stepping, and the chipset was at C-0.

Its the SR0KY, there's a document released from intel that says thats what they changed the S-spec number to. Btw where is the thread/site where you found the picture of that processor. I'm interested in seeing where it came from etc. I really want to pick one up but since I finally have the money, getting a c2 is important to me.

The code "SR0KY" on the third line. SR0Ky was confirmed as the s-spec code for the C-2 stepping 3930K in the PCN111178-00 document released for that stepping change.

Thank you. I hope Tiger Direct gets them in soon. I have it already pre ordered.

You wont see boards with C1 if that is really what it is called, i was under the impression it wasn't called X79 but whatever. Um but in a few months, right around ivy release.

how about features? more sata3.0 ports would be nice. It will probably also bring down power/heat and may even help overclocking. X79 IOH was surpisingly hot and inefficient for the features it provided.
if the early expectations was that it will have a new name (aka X79X? ZX79?), it could means it is more than a respin, and mobo makers may want to use the extra features.
dang, Intel failed with the SB-E LGA2011 product launch. Makes me wait even longer.

C600 can push 10 SATA 3 ports, including 8 via SAS. I don't know if the revised X79 can do that.

Does this also mean this new revision X79 will get native USB 3 support or not?
