Having Trouble Overclocking.

Hey folks. I've got my specs in description in profile of rig. I'll try and cut / paste here . . . Need help, I can't seem to get this thing stable at anything overclocking for Prime 95. Friend has almost same rig minus different power supply and he's got his up to 4.2 and stable in Prime 95 for at least an hour of testing. ( I know some suggest 24 hour run ).

-20 inch Samsung HD widescreen LED Monitor
-BlackWidow Blue -Razer Specter SC2 Edition mouse
-Corsair Vengence Mic'd Headset
-550 W 80 Cert (not gold or any metal rank)
-AMD Phenom 1100T Black Edition CPU
-ASUS 970 Extreme Mobo -OCZ Vertex II 60 GB SSD
-Seagate Baracuda 6.0 MB 7200 RPM 1TB HDD
-Corsair H100 liquid cooling (2 stock fans push + 2 stock fans pull config
- took friends extras as he got aftermarket)top mounted on HAF 932
-CoolerMaster HAF 932 case -ATI Radeon 6870

Heat doesn't seem to be my problem as I haven't seen it get up over 55 by the time I BSOD. Also sometimes the program will just freeze the computer or shut down without BSOD. I've tried to go for 3.9 GHZ but its just really really frustrating. I tried initially to set the parameters exactly as my friend as he has exact same rig minus a different power supply. Is there a chance that my power supply just isn't stable enough to handle giving proper voltage? Or is 550 Watt too small for what I've got on this thing? To me it seems like it should be fine but I can't figure out what wattage everything is.

Also, we did have an issue when replacing the heatsink on the CPU. When pulling off the heatsink the cpu was stuck so tightly that my buddy
ended up pulling the locked CPU out with the fan, this bend a row of pins. I was able to use the credit card trick and get all the pins re-straitened in the CPU. I was very careful and was able to get the CPU back and mounted with no broken pins. They look perfectly strait upon inspection. But didn't want to slip this in later, I would imagine that the CPU would either work or not work after this type of problem, either make connections or not. But please give your ideas. Obviously I'd rather that my BRAND NEW 2 MONTH OLD cpu not have a problem and that its just a need to upgrade my Power Supply.

Your my only hope Overclock . . .

You mean the Asus M5N97? (evo/pro)
Depends on the 550W Brand aswell.
550W should handle that fine.
and if it's overclocking you have issues with, what speed and vcore can you get as your highest stable OC?

Many do 4.0 at 1.45v with 3000Mhz NB at 1.3 to 1.35v

I never messed around with the NB at all. I'm a total noob. I will try messing with the NB and try to set that up for more stability. The NB is memmory correct?

Just ran a test at CPU Frequency 200MHz Multiplier at 18.5, CPU Voltage 1.45, CPU NB Voltage 1.3 NB at 3000HZ NB Voltage at 1.3 and crashed after about 3 - 4 minutes of prime95
