What Asus software should be installed for my motherboard?

Thread Starter
I'm using Windows 7. I'm wondering what software should be installed for up to date motherboards from Asus. I have a Rampage IV Extreme and if I go to Asus website and select my motherboard there is alot of software to be installed. Do I need to install all of it or are there some applications with a purpose that Windows can handle fine by itself? I just want to install applications that are needed to make sure the motherboard is working as it's supposed. I know I can just put in the disc that came with the board but I rather get latest versions from the manufacturers website.

Also, does Asus software have auto-update?

Lastly, should I download Intel drivers, sound drivers and network drivers from Asus website or should I go to the chips manufacturers website and download them?

You'll want to install all of it. The only thing you don't really need to install is BCU (browser configuration utility, if that's even an option for you). I would download the drivers from Intel, but check Asus to see if the drivers are the same versions, if so, just get them there.
