i want to upgrade from a phenom II 925. i am in a dilemma whether to choose a 1100t or fx 8120.

the 1100t is supposed to be on par with 2600k and 980x when oc'd to 4+ghz..

uses primarily are video encoding and adobe suite(photoshop, premiere, after effects)

-- EDIT ---
in between i will be using photoshop, combustion and other apps which are majorly single threaded as of now.. along with that will be using sound forge for audio editing sometimes....

not to mention gaming once in a while(rarely).. so as you can see it is a mix of single and multi threaded workout

help guys..

FX-8120

The new instruction sets help a lot in Video Encoding and Video Capture

While in Adobe it is plenty faster than previous AMD CPUs especially the newer Adobe build which includes multithreaded support thumb.gif

In those multiple cases most Reviewers are not using the new applications that are recompiled for AMD FX CPUs so you get illegitimate results

Bulldozer is geared towards server and workstation application, I believe this is the case where it will be better than Phenom II X6.

At what exactly? From the reviews I just looked at, for video encoding and adobe, it was 60/40 for the 8150. I believe in some games, and programs that the x6 is ahead of the FX.

The x6 seems to be more "even" to the 8120. So it's debatable between them two. I think if you were going to purchase the 8150, I would go with that over the x6.

For your use, I'd suggest 8150 > x6 >= 8120. Especially if you already have a board that can house an x6 (not sure on yours though).
