Best bang for Buck(£) graphics card to complement SB system.

Thread Starter
Hi, I am helping a friend to build a budget pc that can play MW3, Skyrim etc and be reasonably future proof.

The focus is on price/performance and my friend doesnt want to spend much over £300, so far I have:

http://www.ebuyer.com/338524-zoostorm-business-desktop-pc-7873-1050 £168

Intel Celeron G530 SandyBridge 2.4GHz
4GB RAM
250GB HDD
DVD Writer

I am currently at University so I cant build a pc from scratch for him, but I think he could manage inserting a Graphics card.

and that leads me to the question What graphics card would best complement the pc?

With it being a SB CPU it should be quite powerful even at modest clock speeds (2.4GHz)

I have looked at 550Ti 's and 460's but am I missing something from the AMD side?

Note, I dont know what PSU the pc comes with so the most power efficient GPU would be best as molex to PCI-e adapters will probably have to be used.

Cheers smile.gif

Amds HD 6850 will edge out a GTX460 in performance and significantly beat a 550TI for around the same or less dollars.

that system is not going to be a big power consumer so a 450w- 500w PSU will be fine even with the GPU. I'd find out what PSU though in case they only supply something like a 300w generic brand.
