All these graphs are on 1920x1200 resolution single monitor that pertains to what you can expect. I'd say GTX 560Ti 1.2GB 448 for more powerful GPU which makes up the 800mb from either GTX 560Ti 2GB or AMD 6950 2GB. Some heavy VRAM games benchmarks.

BATTLEFIELD 3

451

CRYSIS 2

451

WITCHER 2

450

METRO 2033

688

3D MARK11

700

ANOTHER BENCHMARK SUPPORTING - BATTLEFIELD 3

495

Hope this helps with your choosing your friends GPU. If your not over clocking you'll end up with above results. IF you should help your friend over clock his rig the 448 will still surpass a heavily over clocked 560Ti or unlocked AMD 6950. The 448 over clocks rather nicely.

IF you can afford a slightly better one the two I'd suggest has 6 phase PWM's and best choices for over clocking for best performance out of their class of cards. Running a Acer S231HLbid Black 23" LED 1920x1080p 60Hz monitor I see. Any 1920x1200 resolution monitor or less will run great with one.

EVGA GTX 560Ti 448 Classified
$299.99 w/shipping $307.55

MSI GTX 560Ti 448 TwinFrozrIII $$294.99 w/free shipping $294.99

Either one is a great choice if your seeking a card in this price range.

One of these cards are right on the heels in performance of a 6970 and 570 for $50 less. Nice bang for buck. Couple of graphs that show some comparison. By far not the end all be all but you get a pretty good idea at your resolution and actual usage.
