Afterburner not applying voltages

Thread Starter
I have 5770 hawk. When I set the voltage and hit apply it doesnt show the change anywhere else ( HWmonitor, kombustor ) and won't add more mhz.

Did the CFG modifications and everything, still nothing.

What to do?

Unless your card is reference, voltage control / modification is not possible outside of SmartDoctor.

Uninstall Afterburner, select no when promted to keep settings. Delete the remaining Afterburner folder then Install MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 11.

Enable "unofficial overclocking" HOW TO: Enable UNOFFICIAL overclocking mode in MSI AfterBurner.

Exit CCC Overdrive and Afterburner prior to editing. Then enable voltage unlocking in Afterburner settings.

Do not activate Overdrive afterward.

You are missing something. Read that thread again. You might have to delete the .xml file then set the edited file as read only.

There really is not anything he is missing. The card that he has simply does not allow voltage control frown.gif
I am sure you could do Bios flashing and what have you, but it depends on how far he is willing to go!

Unless MSI went el-cheapo on us (again), the card DOES have voltage support. Trust me, I'm using one in a spare computer.

does your AB have the option to change the graphics processor type in the settings?

if its anything like the msi R6950 you have to change that setting in order to change voltages

Do you know that for a fact or simply opinion? You mean he can flash the BIOS to have voltage control?

Hmm, usually when people can't adjust voltage on afterburner, the card does not allow it

Alright I suppose I am on the same boat as he is. How do you adjust voltage if it is shaded out?
Note: I do have the "Unlock voltage control" box checked. No dice cryingsmiley.gif
