Review: Lutro0's Custom PSU Cable Extensions

Thread Starter
Hey OCN, I didn't see any threads reviewing Lutro0's custom cable extensions so I figured this would probably be the best subforum to type one up!

For those of you who may/may not know about Lutro0, he offers Sleeving Tutorials for those who want to try sleeving, and also sells his Custom Sleeved Extensions for people like me who are unskilled when it comes to such techniques tongue.gif

That said, here's my sig rig setup (prior to cabling):
450

The NZXT Vulcan is quite small for an mATX case, and space is difficult to come by. Fortunately, the area behind the motherboard plate has ample room to route stock power supply cables, allowing just enough room for Lutro0's default-length cable extensions.

I sent him a PM with my rig's components, and he recommended a very nice color scheme to match. I took his advice, and chose one of several wiring patterns that were popular among his other customers. Here's a picture he took of the 24-pin mobo power connector (sleeved with Paracord):

The nice thing about these cables is that they are curved in the best way to relieve tension on sockets, and show off a nice rainbow-ing effect. Also, these do NOT void your power supply manufacturer's warranty, as these are merely extensions. In other words: PSU->stock PSU cable (hide behind mobo plate)->Lutro0 extension->rig components. Lastly, having such nice extensions forced me to do some proper cable management, which reduced my idle temps 3-5C as the front intake fan was no longer obscured as before.

Here are photos of my rig with the custom cables installed:

(4-pin ATX power)

450
(Side view of 24-pin, and 2x 6-pin PCI-E cables)

450
(Angled view to show the smooth bend)

My rig is constantly a work-in-progress, so I don't have any "final" photos so to speak (I'm currently in need of matching SATA data cables, as well as custom SATA & Molex power connectors!)

Here are some other users whose rigs (and cameras!) are nicer than mine:

Hopefully this review was thorough enough for most users who are considering getting a custom sleeve job done!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to respond to the thread, or PM me if you want some additional customer reviews. For all your sleeving questions, PM Lutro0, he's the expert!

TL;DR?
1. Extensions look beautiful, and are truly custom.
2. Doesn't void warranties!
3. Slightly lower temps from proper cable management!
