[SOLVED] WU failed unstable machine -- help

Thread Starter
So twice today I've gotten this message from SMP folding...Once at 16% and once at ~65%...

I understand that my overclock might not be completely stable but it seems odd cause it will take 8+ hours of prime with no problem but doesn't seem to be stable while folding which doesn't appear to stress the CPU as much as prime (if heat is an indication of stress)

I'm not sure what to make of it....any thoughts?

It will stress your NB and RAM OC's a lot more than prime would. Those are the first places I would start looking into increasing voltages or reducing the OC's.

WU failed again...can't remember exactly what the error said (i should have taken a screen) but I think it was something about running out of memory along with the unstable machine message. I was also running HW Monitor and Chrome when it happened and chrome became incredibly unstable after the WU aborted.

It's difficult to test what is causing it because it may take several hours for the error to occur...so frustrating!

If you didn't delete the log file it should (what level of verbosity have you set? verbosity 9 gives the most detailed logs and can be useful if your troubleshooting) be in there.

So I was able to complete the WU....not sure why exactly. I let it run over night and woke up to a new WU and the other that was giving me trouble was completed. Maybe something I was doing while the WU was running was causing some problems with it? Not sure...just glad I was able to complete it smile.gif
