Just like every other "piracy prevention" measure, it will only affect legitimate users. The pirates will keep pirating, as always.

Why don't they just block it from their country if the US doesn't like it. Why do they always have to decide for the rest of the world -.-
Here in the Netherlands its perfectly legal.

The reason they could shut down Megaupload is that the the servers are hosted in the US.
If they were hosted in the Netherlands for example, then they would block the site so people in the US cant use the website.
