Once you go PC, you can never go console again.....

Thread Starter
I have only one thing to say....thank you so much for convincing me to go out and decide "PC gaming is the future." It has totally ruined my experience FOR LIFE for this generation of consoles.

Nah, only kidding. I love the decision I made. Finally deciding to invest in a premium rig, with an AWESOME display...the Dell U2711 to be exact, I can now run games and resolutions I didn't even know existed. The change has been the most plesant one of my life, it so clearly shows how console gaming is totally outmatched by anything on a PC. However, the price comparison between them really defines how consoles have really developed our love for games.

Just a thought....has everyone else enjoyed the transition as much as I have?

I loved the transition, and after about $2300 into my rig it's been worth it. I can watch television on it, record shows, play games, browse the web, edit photos, edit videos, code, read news, listen to music, make a music mix, build houses, animate, it's really a powerful machine, and delivers much more than a console.

oh yeah, I can run OS X Lion like a mac pro, and I'm still cheaper wink.giftongue.gif

I disagree completely.

I do say that once you go PC for certain games you won't go back to the console for them in the future, but overall I think both offer something.

When I just feel like hopping in/out of games, or playing a game like Saints Row, etc, I'll play it on the console. I just like to kick back on my leather couch, kick my feet up on the ottoman and play on my 52" LCD. Just a relaxing, and kicked back experience. For some single player games the same applies, when there's not a "HUGE" difference PC counterpart. Also since most of my IRL friends own both a PC and console we'll play certain games together on the console, and larger scale games on the PC.

That said. I use my PC much more than my console lately, because games like SWTOR, Witcher 2, BF3, Skyrim, etc, shine on the PC (or not available on the console), and there's a big enough difference (such as 64 player conquest on BF3 + graphics) to blow the other out of the water.

So while I definitely use my PC more I do enjoy, and appreciate, what consoles offer. Especially when a developer takes the time to make a game pushing a console to it's limits (such as the Uncharted series, etc).

Disagree personally. I still enjoy sitting in my mini-entertainment center playing consoles. Also, there are console exclusives I wouldn't be willing to give up. To a lesser extent, I'm the same with handheld systems. The experience each offers is different yet still appealing to me.

In the year I've owned my PS3 I've played on it about as much as I do in one week on my PC. I've considered selling it and taking the 320 GB drive I put in it in my PC, many times. The only reason I have it is I kept hoping the NFL wouldn't continue the exclusive license agreement with EA for football games. Madden is utter crap compared to NFL 2k5 to this day.

If you want to put icing on the cake, go 3D and get a 3Dvision LCD (comes with glasses) -- now that is the most immersive experience yet and every game I have is 3D, in fact most games have 3D profiles as developers know its such a impressive way of showing off their titles. thumb.gif

The games are better than the 3D movies too, since the way they render 3D overlay is much more realistic... trust me you will never go back!

Not really. I find some games much more fun on the Xbox 360 and PS3 than I do on the PC. Here is how I categorize my games:

Tactical Shooters: PC
Arcade Shooters: Xbox 360
JRPG's: PS3 if available, Xbox 360 if it is an exclusive (Like Lost Odyssey or Tales of Vesperia)
RPG's: Almost always PC unless it is a PS3/Xbox 360 exclusive. Assassins Creed is an exception as I play that on consoles. Skyrim on PC for sure.

So yeah, some games are just better suited for consoles if you ask me. I still play MW2 on the Xbox 360 (Not a typo, MW3 was garbage) from time to time when I need a fast paced game to play. But games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 simply MUST be played on PC.

I built a "true" gaming computer just recently. Overall I'd say the change wasn't worthwhile as most games I play are console ports anyways. However, "borrowing" games for Xbox has become exceedingly time-consuming and involving, so I just decided to go with PC where "borrowing" games is easier. I already had a great gaming card and psu/case, so all I needed was a motherboard, ram, and CPU.
