Once you go PC, you can never go console again..... - Page 3

I had always been a console gamer until I went to my brother in laws house and saw him playing Command & Conquer Generals/Zero Hour. The first thing that caught my eye was the graphics. I was like OMG that's awesome.
I started to save up for a computer just to play that game and came across all the PC games at Best Buy. WIN!!!
When I did end up finally getting my first PC my PS3 didn't come on until I rented a game to see if I wanted to buy it for PC or Blue ray movies.
Needless to say I ended up selling my PS3 after Blockbuster here closed. Now I can only play PC. I can't even pick up a controller at a friends house anymore. lol I find the controller difficult to aim and get bored pretty quick.

Agreed. I used own every console that was out there back in 08 (except PS3/360). Then once i saw youtube videos of how much better PC gaming was I asked my dad if we could build a gaming PC, we were pretty poor at the time so I had to sell all my consoles but it was well worth it, first game I played was GRID and Crysis and even though i playing crysis on medium at the time it look SO much better than console, plus i loved using keyboard and mouse vs the controller.

Then when the kinect came out I was 3 years into Pc gaming and I had also learned so much from using my PC everyday. My dad bought an Xbox 360 slim + kinect and when i started using it i saw very little features and you had to PAY for them, I found myself wowing every 5 minutes. I eventually got Halo 3 and Mw2 to play on it since they were dirt cheap on amazon and I had nothing better to do (sold my current PC to upgrade to better parts). and I found myself getting owned because 1) Xbox live is laggy, on Halo 3 it feels like I'm shooting BBs because it takes 2 clips to kill someone while it takes them like 10 shots to kill you. 2) The graphics were just god awful, on PC i was used to playing MW2 maxed out with 75+FPS 4xAA and all those goodies, then when i play on xbox I'm playing at a low res no AA and lags when theres smoke grenades or when im shooting a G18, there wasn't any AF either, Halo 3 was just as bad only it was capped at 30 FPS.

Then when i finally got my upgrades I was relieved to be back, consoles just are not for me anymore, I will however occasionally play with friends since everyone in my town is too poor to afford a good PC.

I've never made a transition since I've only ever played on pc except when I went home and played my brother in Goldeneye years ago or Halo. That type of split-screen fun just doesn't exist on pc does it? But yeah, I've been playing on pc so long I sometimes think that a console would be nice but I realize not enough exclusives that really interest me, plus the generally pricier titles. Anyway, enjoy the rig, you should be set for a while.

When I recently chose PC over console, it was between a console and a new GPU for my 3 year old pc. Had we been at the start of a new console generation or had I not been a desktop pc user, the line would have been fuzzier. Add to that my preference for mouse/keyboard and moddable games with high graphics potential, and my choice was clear.

I do sometimes wish I had an Xbox to play the occasional co-op game with my friend who has a console but no PC (at all). I still may pick one up someday for this, as I find same-room (lan; I hate splitscreen) co-op really fun.

I love this debate I created. Just wanted to throw a spanner in the works.

Ok, so overall, games are GRAPHICALLY better on a PC, that is without question. But playing with friends, ease of access and playing in a relaxed "couch" situation, consoles win on the whole.

I love both, I just cant get off my new PC, such a joy to use!

well i am going to show my age really quick but when it was either a snes or a 486 i went with the PC and havent looked back. i got a PS2 and then PS3 only so i could continue playing FF games once they stopped coming out for PC. the only thing i use the PS3 for is uncharted, FF13 and netflix. everything else i do on PC. i have 2 xboxes but they are just for playing with jtagging.

I think that PC has the best Western games, but most Japanese games are for console. So I choose both

While I enjoy gaming on PC, I still game quite a bit on consoles.

PC lets me mod, play at 1920x1080 on a 22" monitor, and game with friends.

My consoles are currently hooked to a 13" Toshiba flat-screen CRT (40" Mitsu CRT died sadsmiley.gif ), but I get to kick back in the recliner or on the couch and just play.

Controller vs. mouse/keyboard isn't a big issue, since I only mouse+KB for strategy and some online games (League of Legends), everything else is with a corded 360 controller.

Console-wise, I play 360, PS2, and 'Cube. The N64's hooked up too, but I haven't played it in a few months.

Besides Zelda and Metroid, there isn't a single console exclusive game worth getting in my eyes.
