Update 19

Hey guys!
So you people probably though I gave up on this mod. I never did! It's just that I had an exam to study for biggrin.gif
With it behind me, I can finally afford to upload some updates thumb.gif

So, this is basically the finalization of the motherboard I/O panel. In this update I will be finishing off the cut-out and installing it

img2133ym.jpg

Aim: to fit the panel into the hole:

img2134s.jpg

After a bit of sanding and cutting (it's winter down in Australia so the sun gets the day off pretty quickly tongue.gif )
Sorry about having to use the camera flash

img2135s.jpg

img2136cs.jpg

A bit of a gap? Not a problem: Will be using a certain filler to take in the gaps. WILL EXPAND ON IN THE FUTURE!

img2137g.jpg

Testing in the room

img2139d.jpg

img2140r.jpg

Pressing the panel down so that it is flat along with the rest of the wooden panel (otherwise the motherboard panel will collide with it)

img2141lt.jpg

Mock-up

img2142he.jpg

img2145p.jpg

The motherboard panel is meant to fit along the line. Shall be emphasised once I get the gluing and reinforcing done

img2146pe.jpg

From the top:

Testing with my GPU:

img2158j.jpg

img2160kp.jpg

Instead of screwing the PCI cards on, instead I'll just use the pressure between the wood and the metal.
A bit more sanding will do the trick:

img2161uk.jpg

Space is still a little too less:

img2162n.jpg

Sanding down a little will make it slide in firmly

img2163zj.jpg

Back to sleeping mode for the night!

img2165e.jpg

Well that's it for now guys!
I'll have updates mostly every week or fortnight, depending on what's going on. I.e. if I'm busy or not.
Right now it's chill time, so I've got plenty of time to mod!

Will be sanding tomorrow, hopefully my neighbor could kindly offload his file?.... biggrin.gif

STAY TUNED FOR MORE PEOPLE!

I assure you they will be very nice biggrin.gif
I'm desgning this to make sure there is minimal cable clutter in the components area, and most of the clutter is packed away in the cooling compartment. I will be purchasing screw on clamps later for cabl routing.

And for all those people who are thinking: "nope this ain't going to work. It'll catch on fire when you turn the computer on", you've got it all wrong.
I know my computer doesn't emit sparks but if yours does then it's got problems thumb.gif

Heat doesn't always mean fire.
And this baby is watercooled so you don't have to worry about heat at all.

Not referring to Niko at all, he's an awesome guy who has followed my mod the whole way through biggrin.gif
