HEY GUYS!

I have a MASSIVE UPDATE coming soon, but my internet plan is changing so the provider is currently tampering with my internet to change some things for my new internet plan.

So currently I'm using the internet on a friend's phone, so I'll have to make this snappy.

Well what happened yesterday was:

1) Purchased Plywood! 120cm x 60cm and 7mm thick, Nice and sturdy for a case
2) Measured and cut wood to panel sizes
3) Sanded down using my belt sander
4) Mock set-up! Using some nice masking tape, assembled the main parts and everything comes together!

So guys, PLEASE stay tuned for more!
I've got some nice stuff coming up biggrin.gif

But it's okay, because I have already figure out the combination, it was just trial and error really, there are only a total of 3 combinations you need to try anyways \
REP + for you anyways for the help!
Great reference for other people, the switch doesn't come with any instructions whatsoever rolleyes.gif

No problem at all. You'd think that the switch would come with some instructions, because its not clear at all if you haven't done something like that before. Keep up the great work smile.gif

Hahah, yes I know! It just came as it was, the switch and a few wires. There was this extremely vague diagram on the cardboard tab which didn't tell me anything about installation rolleyes.gif

Thankyou very much!

I know people will appreciate the upcoming update, it shows everything placed together!!
Everything will truly make sense in the end thumb.gif

Update 17

HEEY GUYS!
After a wait of 4 days for my new internet plan to be installed, I now have much faster internet and most importantly I can update .
I won't be using smilies on this update, due to the fact it'll have truckloads of images. And of course they are resized.

So... I FINALLY GOT SOME PLYWOOOOOOD

img2001ww.jpg

img2002p.jpg

I had to pick through a massive pile of plywood to get this one, must have looked very stupid in the warehouse >: D

img2003e.jpg

Doesn't have any knots or indents at all. You guys should have seen the other ones

img2004ov.jpg

So, here are my plans

img2005ur.jpg

img2007k.jpg

Measuring time!

img2008n.jpg

img2011p.jpg

Cutting time!

img2012lo.jpg

img2013g.jpg

Well to make a long story short, I got kicked out of the garage and my other workshop was occupied with boxes of dishwashing tablets.... so I'm going to have to use this!

img2014m.jpg

Was made from spare parts from a bed, im pretty skilled aren't I?

img2013g.jpg

I learnt to cut at a very shallow angle, in order to reduce the number of splinters or splits in the veneer. I'm still quite the novice at wood-woodworking after all

img2015cc.jpg

No splinters!

img2017eb.jpg

Complete

img2018m.jpg

Now to sand down the edges.
Using this straight surface of a chair, my old sanding platform

img2021ds.jpg

img2023eu.jpg

With a bucket of water to weight it down

img2024v.jpg

img2026pa.jpg

Belt sander

img2027ir.jpg

img2029fz.jpg

After an hour of sanding.....

img2033en.jpg

Now I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves, this is the beginning of the mock set-up. EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER WHEEE!!
img2034jn.jpg

img2038d.jpg

img2039p.jpg

img2040ir.jpg

img2042tp.jpg

img2043ha.jpg

img2044b.jpg

img2046dd.jpg

img2051j.jpg

img2052oz.jpg

img2057v.jpg

img2058hw.jpg

img2059a.jpg

Now, since this update is getting too fat I'll continue in the next update

Update 18

Hey guys!

So continuing on from the last update

Will be using a slim drive for this mod, a normal is just too fat biggrin.gif

img2060xa.jpg

img2061ih.jpg

img2062fk.jpg

Will be installed vertically like so... I guess the masking tape didn't do a very good job of securing it on

img2069p.jpg

Secured on the back side.

img2070t.jpg

Shall open up like this!

img2071g.jpg

Now for the cooling compartment...

img2073iy.jpg

This wall is perfect for more 240mm radiator mounts thumb.gif I can fit atleast 480mm more radeage in this case.

img2074ue.jpg

With the left panel, which will be opening up

img2075qa.jpg

img2076hk.jpg

Like this!

img2078me.jpg

So as you can see it will be split into two compartments, the cooling compartment and the hardware compartment.

img2080k.jpg

Now back to temporary hibernation....

img2081di.jpg

Whew! So I guess I got a few basic concepts whipped out with Update 17 & 18. The hinged door on the left will be at a fixed right angle, and will be hinged between the left panel and the back panel.

And to strengthen the case, I will be useing support blocks along the meeting edges between the panels, which should secure it quite nicely. Also I haven't said anything about the top panels yet, I will probably be using clear acrylic or more wood for them.

Well that's it for now!
You guys should expect many more updates coming biggrin.gif

STAY TUNED FOR MORE!
Feel free to drop a comment or a word of advice. That's encourage me a lot more!

biggrin.gif Yes it is!
Everything becomes so much clearer, I can take exact measurements instead of guessing and I can finally get in some more mounting holes/ventilation holes such as for the PSU.

Will be updating tomorrow, treating myself to some wood-work after 2 days of hard studying biggrin.gif

Stay tuned for more!
