Overclock of the week is our pick of the weeks best results, whether it be for pure frequency, great modding or just crazy skills. This weeks has all 3 in droves.
We don't have just one result this time but a slew of high scores from our friend CL3P20!

 *I think there is still room left, provided I can coax the CPU into playing nice above 6.25.. gonna be looking for more stability with vcore and temps.. but its a fine line already. Boot in at -130 [CBB below -130].. pull down to -150 to load OS. The CPU will run colder than -174 under load though.. which makes me wonder if its my crap thermal paste causing this.. or just CPU has no apparent CB..? thinking.gif Getting real close with vcore too.. CPU doesnt like to boot with more than 1.83v .. but runs much faster and stable with 1.88v in once in windows.  <- Saw this same kind of limit with 655k's once they were very close to max freq.

Most chips can handle colder temperatures under load. This is a pain sometimes though... when I was benching my 965, it had a CB at -180°C if it was idling. If it was under load it could go down all the way so I had to time my pouring really well so it would warm up enough by the end of the run not to freeze.

exactly right. gotta time that last pour good.. and be quick with the mouse hand to run something fast if temps start diving when bench ends.. otherwise you freeze with your "gold" on the screen [did get 7.50sec 32mil wprime.. which is 1st.. but crashed from idle CB temp, below -162c.

 

 Was benching full pot 1024mil wprime at -174.7c @ 6.36ghz when the dewar ran out this morning streaming... CPU is definitely capable of running benchies at 6.4ghz though for 2D. yessir.gif

 

 Had just enough left in the thermos's to run qwk 1mil time @ 6.48ghz [higher clock than previous.. but poor RAM efficiency]. redface.gif

That e4500 of mine bugged at what I imagine was -180C, (probe reads -173 as -196 so not sure) could bench full pot wprime. Got it wrong on first run, was whipping the torch out at 90% with Ln in the pot rolleyes.gif

Frustrating seeing a 'gold' run and have frozen due to cb. Very satisfying when you time it to a tea tho smile.gif
