looks good. I see you have a max of 75c on one of the cores. Keep a eye on those temps if you keep on pushing it up more.

O really ? 1.45 is max safe voltage? So I can keep going then? lol

What temps should I stop at 80 and up?

You're doing good Bill. Don't forget when you're doing this stuff, if you have time; take a chance and make the testing fun. Use BF3 as it's a pretty damn good stability test in and of itself. It's surely not taxing like IBT but it will also show you instability where IBT may not, due to the load it puts on the system as a whole. Good luck man!

yes. and you dont have to worry until about 85c. the only thing you really need to worry about is VTT. too much VTT will kill a 1366 fast. dont go higher than 1.55

and i actually find that BF3 and GTA4 etc find instability problems way faster than prime95 or IBT.

Well temps are kinda up to the user. I keep mine under 75c full load while folding. I"ve seen people say 80c ok. But from what I've read, heat is what kills the cpu. The lower you can keep the temp, the better for the cpu in the long run. I'ld say under 80 ok, but like to keep mine under 75c.

As far as volts, intel says 1.45 is the max, though some run over that ( like me thumb.gif ).

Great Thanks a lot for all your help everyone. When I started I was stuck at 3.9... Probably gonna take a time out for a bit and play some BF3 and see how it runs on current settings. biggrin.gif

Running BF3 now no problems FPS goes between 95-115 depends where I am on the map Ultra settings AA on highest setting. No problems or crashes seems great so far. I'll probably want to go further with the OC I'd like to hit 5.0 Ghz but not sure if thats possible with the cooling I have ... probably not lol. Either way though the 4.6 I'm very happy with at the current voltage. I think tomorrow I'm gonna play around with it and try for more.

Should I display my Bios settings etc somewhere to show how I reached 4.6? I'm not sure if it will be helpful to someone but I'd be more then happy to do it.

Again Thanks for your help.

Go ahead and post it up. That way we can see if anything might need a little tweaking.

Hello , Here are my settings for 4.6 Ghz intel 990x Extreme, I'm not a pro so if trying this configuraton please confirm with the experts lol. If you guys see a way to improve anything I would appreciate your advice as well. I havent tweaked it either yet I was just happy I got it stable so after that I took a break and had a few beers. Planning on messing around tonight or tomorrow. I played BF3 for 6 hours no crashes or issues at all Temps were in the 40s.
