I had some of the 2x2GB Eco 1600 cl7 1.35's and LOVED them. Very stable and 1.35V in the bios was enough, even though Everest tells me it may droop down lower. I replaced them w/ some Corsair Vengeance 2 2x4GB (16GB) 1600 cl9 1.35's and they're not even stable @ 1.4V running @ 1380, lol! I've tried 2 sets now.

Is this because I'm filling all the dimms? The i5 760 is clocked @ 3.6Ghz, but it's stable w/ the G.Skills. I ordered some Samsung Udimms for the weekend. But I REALLY wish the 2x4GB Eco 1600 CL8's were still around. frown.gif

If anyone happens to find them, please update the post!

Here they...were...

Thanks for forming another useful club munaim1:thumb:
A lot of people are using this great brand of ram.
I have submitted my old, but reliable, G Skill 4Gb kit. (G Skill F3-16000CL9-2GBRH)
Not the fastest clockers, but I've had this kit on all my personal P55, P67, and Z68 builds.
About 5 different motherboards, no compatibility issues with any of them.
I'll eventually be replacing them with some kind of 8Gb kit, but felt they deserved to be in this club for providing several years of reliable service:D

Any suggestions for a good 8Gb kit that matches my M4E are welcome and appreciated:D

Edit:
munaim1,
I may need to slightly edit my links in the spreadsheet as they aren't working properly as listed on it.
Here are the correct links for the two entries in the spreadsheet:

Try the 1866mhz section: http://www.overclock.net/t/1085715/overclocking-choosing-ram-for-sandybridge-h67-p67-z68

No worries, I've fixed it up. Thanks.

Thanks for fixing my links that I botched-up!
That's another excellent thread on Sandy Bridge ram. As for the Dominators, I've been considering a set since a wise fellow mentioned them to me a while ago:D
Regardless of the brand however, an 8GB 1866MHz kit would be just right for my needs.
I'm not concerned about low timings, but an 1866MHz-capable kit would be a nice upgrade from my current 1600MHz set.

The Dominator GT and some of the higher-end G Skill RipjawsX kits are a bit pricier, but are a bargain compared to the high-end ram from a few years ago.
I recall paying over $300 for a 2GB super Talent DDR2 set which featured a Brainpower PCB.
But it could be run at timings of 4-4-3-8:p

RAM is just toooo cheap right now tongue.gif

I would probably recommend something along these lines:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455
Quote:
Now these are a little surprising, reviewer's above were able to overclock these to 2133mhz with 9-11-10-28, T2, at 1.56v (Stable after hours of prime blend). Max overclock of 2155Mhz, with timings at 10-12-10-28 with a command rate of 1T at 1.6v DRAM, and 1.2v QPI (VCCIO). Pretty impressive if I say so myself. Please read the review for more details.

Review

These are guaranteed to run at 2133:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231476

Timings are also pretty decent and the also goes for the price as well. I will be looking to complete that RAM thread with 2133mhz RAM, unfortunately I haven't had time. tongue.gif

Wow!
Thanks for all the links!

No rush to update the Sandy Ram Thread, you probably have a few other duties to take care of:D

That's a lot to choose from. They sell the same kits that you have listed in my area too, as well as on Newegg, for similar prices, all the way up to the 2133MHz kits.
In a price comparison I did, the Dominator GT 1866 kit is about twice the price of a G Skill RipjawsX or Sniper 1866MHz 8GB kit.

One could go up to a 2133MHz set, but then the timings do get a bit on the high side at that speed.
Most of these newer kits have a lower voltage requirement of 1.5v., compared to my old G Skill 1.65v. set.
I've never had any issues with running 1.5-1.65v. with Sandy Bridge regardless.

Good review that you linked on the G Skill 1866MHz RipjawsX kit, it looks quite impressive, and at a good price.
I think that kit is at the sweet-spot of price vs performance for me.

I was wondering what the difference is, other than the heatspreaders, for the Sniper vs RipjawsX kit:
www.ncix.com/products/?sku=59977&vpn=F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR&manufacture=G.Skill
and:
www.ncix.com/products/?sku=58519&vpn=F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL&manufacture=G.Skill

Probably just differently-styled heatspreaders, the Sniper heatspreader has that "sniper-themed" styling, like Gigabyte used on their G1-series motherboards, which I'm not really too crazy about:p
But the RipjawsX kit has some red to go with the M4E:D

It works on AMD as it's the same DDR3 240-Pin setup. Don't know if it runs on it properly seeing as how it says it's optimized for Intel boards.
I took the risk and bought some of the 2 x 4GB G.Skill Snipers @ 2133 MHz during that Shell Shocker sale on Newegg not too long ago. Haven't had any problems with it since I got it yesterday, but I really haven't been able to get it past 1600 MHz (probably my lack of knowledge on OCing RAM and not the sticks themselves tongue.gif )
