A better option would be to use UPnP or NAT-PMP if it is supported by both your router and the bittorrent client. It is so by most. I would advise against DMZ, you don't want your machine completely exposed to the web.

try this.

You may want to avoid DMZ, because that forwards all ports to the specified host, basically making you PC visible to the internet.

Forwarding the port for gnuttela would work for software such as limewire, but bit torrent is not gnuttela.

Thank you! I am going to try this also. I actually switched over to my Pentium 3 933MHz machine but it shouldn't make a difference. I don't have any anti virus on it. It's running Windows XP, should I put a free anti virus on it?

yep you should put an AV on it, IIRC you were using pfsense which has a sw fw. so you can actaully write rules to close ports in the DMZ.. oh did the DMZ idea work??

alot home users and companies put like webservers, public email servers and so forth in the DMZ, usally this is a DMZ that is a port on a HW FW but shouldnt make much difference if its on the router.

i failed to mention that i machine as its exposed to the net connect via a DMZ is safe aslong as you dont have any important stuff on there.. just have an AV and scan regulay and store your BT files you want publically available smile.gif

The Port Forwarding worked smile.gif At the bottom of my torrent window it has the green check mark but all the torrents have a red arrow frown.gif I can't seem to connect to any of the trackers but DHT, Local Peer Discovery, and Peer Exchange are working

im abit lost now it seems to be an issue with the BT trackers, thats the BT server that helps with communicating between peers. if your FW is allowing trafic to connect to the trackers, that is they are in the allowed list then i cant see why why you cant connect.. im stumped plaus i have never used BT before and dont know much about it.. i didnt think it would be this problematic to set up sorry redface.gif
