Chris, could you show us what's behind that pannel thing by the hard drive bays?

I've been wondering how to mount a radiator there

I don't have any issues with the door opening the drive, and I've had it mounted in the top and the bottom spot.

I dremeled the middle HDD cage, and mounted it all inside there. Probably 2-3 hours worth of dremel work. I mounted the fans just a little low (drilling the holes was hard with the crappy bits I used), so the radiator sits at a slight angle, but overall it turned out okay, it just doesn't look super professional, hence the panel. tongue.gif

Same here on the side panel fan. I have the ASUS GTX 570 Direct CUII and since adding the side panel fan my GPU temps haven't went over 50C even in BF3 or any benchmarks like Unigine Heaven 3.0 or3D mark11. Without the side panel fan my GPU temps in BF3 were around 58-59C.

Thanks for the picture Chris!
But wouldn't it be easier if you just removed that hard drive bay instead of dremeling it?

Then where would the radiator mount? It wouldn't fit on the bottom next to the PSU, and it wouldn't fit on the front, because the 5.25" bays interfered. If I had bought a smaller 120mm radiator, maybe, but I didn't, so I improvised. The Black Ice GTX is a monster 120mm radiator, 54 mm thick, 157 mm tall, and 133 mm wide.

Oo, I thought that they could just fit onto the fan that's revealed when you take that drive bay out

Now that answers a lot of questions that I've had

Are you sure painting the rad fins would be a good idea?

I feel like it could clog the fins, or flake off the body x.x

It can clog the fins but more importantly standard paint is too thick and counteracts the heat transfer ability. You could get it anodized
