With this u can do mods that you didnt like on the imperial guard but that case was perfect I would keep it for your children and hang it up in your house and pass it as art
I did this once with my old MacBook
But its your choice but with my case I messed up some things and if I wanted to do different window mod I have to just fill and sand with bondo
Keep the guard and if you are selling it does it come with fans then in this case I will buy it from you possibly

If I was going to do another Phantom 410 build I would use the one I already have cause to be honest there was nothing that I did to it that I didn't like. I didn't do much but I thought out every step very well before do it. I was going to hand it down to my son but he still like the superman themes Thermaltake V3 Black Edition I gave him tongue.gif If you have any questions regarding buying the Phantom just pm me so we don't go off topic and catch a ticket biggrin.gif

To be honest I feel very much the same about this case. I was never one to get attached to a pc. But the Phantom 410 got a place in my heart. For some reason I am having a hard time letting that one go fully. I've put it on and taken it off the for sale list several times in the last few weeks. Yeah it's abit tight for water cooling but if your creative you can do just about anything in it. I had a 240 and 120 rad in it and was running crossfired 6870's even though my GPU's weren't water cooled in it at the time.

Any general hints for cable management? I'm actually quite quite horrible at it (Pictures will be taken and shown tomorrow or next day)
Long story short, i got a bunch of cables hiding on the bottom part of my HDD compartment and its looking messy. My rubber thingies make it feel a lot harder to put cables through, and im unsure how to take advantage of the back panel. I just shove everything in the back and flatten it out some how.

ZIP TIES! I used about 20 of them and made my cables quite secure and out of sight. backside doesn't look too bad but there are tons of cables so its difficult to make it look amazing. just need them to stay from hitting the case door though, since they won't be seen by anyone but you anyway.
I might post a picture later but honestly every build will be different, just follow natural routes for cables that make the least bends, temporarily tie off groups until you have everything situated so you can group several component wires together for the final configuration, then you won't have a nest of wires but rather lots of flowing groups.

I was on about putting the HUE LEDs through these black lines, represented by red lines as an outline of where I want to cut it:

Does anyone think it's possible?

take another close look at how this case is constructed, while I'm not saying it's impossible I can say to use the Hue for this job wouldn't be possible as the LED strip is one strip that cannot be modified (at least not that I can tell, there are no "wires" it's just a strip of rubber with LED's in it and probably flat wires on the back you cannot even see.

To light the strips as you marked I'd look for another LED strip option where the strips are wires with exposed LED's or at least shorter and able to be separated, that way you can run a separate LED cable to the door, because you can't have the black strip on the door connected to the black strips on the top and face; it wouldn't open. Here's a 410 review that shows the case inside and out, take note the construction. the front and top mesh is removable and I imagine you can mod it to house LED's but it would be a very involved project you might look more into before going ahead. If you've done LED's before then go for it, just take a close look at the case to see if what you want can be done. I can't take my front face off to take apart because the drives must be removed and I don't have time to remove and unmount those.

Take a look at the 6th picture and then at other images on following pages to see what's inside the front and top plastic bezels.

It IS beautiful though, and lights up the case plenty bright. Here's some of mine during the day in a fairly dimly lit room. at night it's...bright. Of course this is relative but oh well. If you want more custom LED's externally they will probably blast your peripheral vision with little exposed diodes.
I DO want to light the bottom of the case between the table and the metal though, there's a perfect little line for light to leak out I wish was lit. thumb.gif
Here's a few shots i stuck together quickly so you can see the Hue in action, and one shot of the front so you can see how those black strips move with the door.
Excuse the messy cables, I haven't tied them down yet since I just finished it as it sits last night.

With much planning, you could have a one of a kind masterpiece after the mission you wish to take. I hope you can get it done because that would be pretty awesome biggrin.gif

Hi there.

Glad to finally make a post on this forum after spending so long reading it!

Well I am looking to get into the modding world and Ive been looking for about a week now at some components and have really set my heart on the Phantom 410 design - my god its beautiful!:smile.gif

Now my problem is I really want a single loop CPU / GPU water cooling set-up. The money I have to spend is approximately £2400 (Im blowing a big whack of my life on it!wackosmiley.gif). Ive got my eyes on an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and Intel 3930K Socket 2011 CPU. I'm also going major league stupid and getting a gtx690. Now I'm really not sure if a Phantom 410 could support the radiators needed to cool down this kinda hardware - please please please tell me I'm wrong!

As a newbie to this whole business and rather dreading the whole prospect of installing water cooling, I'm seeing some absolutely beautiful cases on this forum. I just cant seem to see that setup and am unsure if it is supported by the case? Any info you could give me would be brilliant - i do appreciate you guys get this kinda thing a lot its just its a lot of money and i want it to be right.

Don't feel you need to do in depth research for me - I just want some information from your experience working with the case!

Cheers in advance

I HIGHLY suggest you just go with the full size Phantom. You're talking about cooling the top of the line CPU AND GPU. Not to mention that 690 is going to get REALLY hot since it had 2 chips on it. You're restricted to a 240 (no push pull), 120 (with push pull) and another 240 (with push pull) with some slight modding with the 410. I'm sure you can fit more then that in a full size case.

Thank you for your quick reply - unfortunately not what I was wanting to hear sadsmiley.gif

Are you saying I would need more than 2 x240 and 1x120 radiators for that loop?

What if i left them both on air and ditched the water cooling (I love the case that much!). Would it still get too hot in there?

Would a Corsair H100 CPU Closed Loop cooler fit in the case? And still function well enough to cool the 3930k?

Thanks again!
Totally, I mean if you really want a custom loop I don't want to deter you from it. I just wanted to suggest you the best option for MOST cooling possible. Im sure the loop I mentioned will cool the 2 sufficiently, you could just get better temps with a little more watercooling friendly case. If you chose not to go custom loop an H100 will do just fine on a 3930. If you do go that route the 690 does have a rather decent stock cooler on it, or for the custom loop I found this http://koolance.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2059.
