Sadly or otherwise, this game has been denied classification in Australia,,, doh.gif

Having seen the feedback, doesnt sound like a big loss anyway.

Nothing wrong with the game, if they have any brains they might allow a dumb downed version. Like they did for L4D2/

My only gripe is that it looks like a modified version of the Crystal Engine (I take 'in-house' as completely new designed engine with possibly the physics and sound-engine being third party,) and that the AI will be utter crap like most FPS... or games entirely. Take the intro where the main character breaches the mind of security behind the glass, the man is screaming in pain as this is happening. Whilst the man screaming loudly, the man beating the guy doesn't take any notice and keeps doing so until a 'scripted' sequence where the one man pulls his gun out and points it at the other guy and starts what looks like a scripted animation sequence.
Most likely the enemy AI will be the simple :
1) Rush tactic whilst main character is out of main sight.
2) A defensive tactic of covering for seconds until peaking out to fire.

My point being, I would love to see progressive AI actually in use.

People have shelled out vast amounts of money for their DX11-capable powerhouse graphics cards, so saying "well it can still look nice on DX9" is a bit moot. When games are coded ground-up with DX11 they tend to run far better, it's why Witcher 2 and Skyrim (and even Crysis the DX10 king) run at shamefully low framerates.

No I agree. It looks like the old Syndicate games but played from a first person perspective. Everyone on this site crys bloody murder over EA rebooting a 15 year old dead franchise as a FPS but look at what Nintendo did with the Metroid Prime games. It's STILL metroid, just from an entirely different perspective.

Skyrim is fine and I'm running it wit high res mods for the sky, textures and water. The city optimization itself is ass because it only supports single cores and yet a mod fixed that issue.

EA Australia stated they will not be re-submitting this game for reclassification... so probably not. frown.gif

I dont think a reboot of old games is a bad thing... there is a nice market in nostalgia thumb.gif

Its 2012, a game like this should support DX11. The game looks interesting, but I will probably only end up buying it if I find it on a good sale sometime.
