At any rate, I never thought i'd say this but I am FPS'd out from 2011. I really would have enjoyed a Turn based or RTS Syndicate. I wasted so many untold hours of my youth persuadatroning whole cities into being my human shields. I would have loved that with the tech we have now.
If this isn't as good or better than the most recent Deus Ex, i don't want it.

The Xbox version sold 360,000 copies in North America alone and probably equal amounts in every other market like EU and the UK which, I think, are more known for loving RTS games.

Selling over a half a million units is an excellent foundation, so you're probably right about the money part.

I definitely see them not putting as much effort into an RTS based around Battlefield. Maybe Activision will make a Call of Duty RTS.

Eh, it looks alright. I wasn't too impressed by the gameplay walkthrough.

As long as the game looks good, who cares what's behind it?
The Witcher 2, and even Skyrim proved us that DX9 can look amazing to this day, and rival DX11.
In fact, DX9 was the last real jump in graphics quality from previous generations of DX.
DX 10 and 11 feel like a simple "feature addition", rather than a whole new API.

Its like saying "I like eating bread, but I won't put on it some jelly on it because its too advanced".

Compare crysis 2 DX9 vs DX11 for example. The difference is substantial. It moves real time scenes from "oh that's nice" to "holy crap did you see that!!??"

The reason games don't come out in DX11 is not because DX9 is good enough, but because consoles don't support it, and developers and engine makers don't want to do the extra mile and add the DX11.

Once consoles support DX11, we will see more engines and more games running at DX11.

Let's see Syndicate's legs:

We're done here. Nothing about this game is going to compel people to purchase it, not even nostalgia.

^Same. Looks fun, and I love sci-fi settings
and once again, really doesn't matter what API it runs on, from what I can see it has a great aesthetic.

Interesting.... I have no idea how these things work but from what it sounds like, they think that they can do just as good with dx9 as with dx11. The better multi-core cpu's support is definitely a plus. Maybe we'll see some good reviews from it.

I did hear the syndicate is supposed to be pretty good but I dont know, thats just what I heard.

So wait a second here, everyone is now all the sudden tired of FPS games? Simply wasn't aware of it.

OT:
Not interested in this game, but it does look nice. smile.gif
