Ivy Bridge? Ya, but from what I hear, they don't OC THAT much better than SB, especially since you'll have it under water anyway. You won't be disappointed with SB, but you'll be happier with IB.

Will both use same socket and MOBO?
Yes they´ll use native z77/z75 chipset(msi and gigabyte shown theirs at ces2012) but now u can get good mobo with compatibility (Asus P8P67 PRO REV3.1/Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3/Asrock P67 Extreme4 gen3)

Don't quote me but I believe the correct answer to be: Yes.

They will all allow for Ivy bridge upgrade?
Wait till Ivy Bridge and then if you're in it for a new video card grab a Kepler if they're out by then, unless you want eyefinity and by that time it might be worth it to do a 7870 Crossfired or something

I don't think dual 7870 would be better then dual 6970s...

Back to my orginal posts so only the p67 board mentioned above would allow for a Ivy chip upgrade?
pretty much any lga1155 board will allow you to drop in an Ivy bridge cpu, most will need a BIOS update and then come the gen 3s which support PCIe 3.0 smile.gif
